What Happened?

I was wondering what ever happened to the buffs, nerfs, and + ability characters where going to receive? Was that all thrown out the window when gold characters arrived?

What I'm talking about:
Ragnok- another power.
Captain A- lower ap cost.
Moonstone- more control.
Magneto- Nerf
Spiderman- Nerf

Not that I want these things to happen but I need to know.
