I want this game to succeed, and am hoping that booster crafting will actually be usable to gain new cards rather than turn dupes into an ever dwindling pile by having them craft a normal booster. If the system is well implemented with the needs of the players in mind it would cement my enthusiasm for the game. If not I would not be surprised, especially after seeing the results so far, if a significant section of the player base abandons it. This is why I think Oktagon needs to make a release about the implementation of booster crafting, player input, while it would slow things down, could be a great help in making a better product.

If this thread gets to, say, page 4, then I'll consider it a definitive thread on the subject, and go and find what I've said in all the other booster crafting threads and reiterate it here.

I voted and quoted and posted ... just for a chance to make Shteev do some footwork ;P

I have lots of optimism for Oktagon, so hoping for the best...

the first 2 questions mean almost the same thing... the difference is subtle. Was that the point?

I took it as either it is a point of retention or the final straw. Basically are you considering leaving with only booster crafting keeping you here, or would a failed booster crafting cause you to consider leaving. But that is just my interpretation.

Only if you think in binary, which the third option eliminates.

Option #1 implies that you are planning to quit soon already unless you are satisfied with booster crafting. Option #2 implies that you are either positive or neutral about the game in its current form, but if you are dissatisfied with booster crafting, it will push you into the negative. At least that is how I interpreted it.

The poll is divided into 2 parts:

People who are considering quitting and people who aren't.

options 1 and 2 cater to the split branch of the result for people who are considering quitting. (action causes reaction)

option 3 covers those who aren't considering quitting or have already quit. (neutral)

Technically it's slightly biased because people who have already quit but are still here might choose option (2) instead of (3)

Straying slightly from the discussion over the meanings of the poll options, I'd just like to say that while I am looking forward to booster crafting, it is by no means a deal breaker. I have played this game longer than any other mobile game and have devoted a large quantity of free time to it. I have done this because I enjoy the game and have enjoyed it without ever having a booster crafting system.
Booster crafting is simply a bonus for me.

Crafting will probably be great for newer players. I'm sitting around 1300 cards. I can't imagine crafting coming with any sort of guarantee, so I'll just be rotating dupes. I'll probably play until I can't play anymore

if booster crafting is done right, i will be happier to play. Even though it doesnt change drop rates, and from the 490 dupes i have i get 0 new cards in the respective boosters....well i will be pissed but luck is luck so nothing to do :)

A thought: stop asking about it and just, for the sake of all sanity, get it running! This was an alternative to trading dupes for runes that was supposed to be implemented ages ago!

I don't think they've asked us for input at all.

The first two options in the poll are sort of the same... ish... I just want a good booster crafting system. Is that much to ask for. Oh, and before I get too old and senile that I won’t remember a thing... Thanks.

They’ve asked a few times what should be in the next update, and one of the top requests was booster crafting (or, at the very least, an alternative to getting runes for dupes... just something to make dupe rares/Mythics less aggravating)

The first two options are very similar and that was a by-product of trying to make the poll unbiased. It probably could have benefited from a few more options but I was also trying to keep it simple. At this point I consider it a failure given the potential for confusion. I really just wanted to gauge how important of a thing booster crafting is to the players. Obviously it's a contentious topic and I'm not trying to discuss how it should be implemented in this thread. I just thought that a poll could be a tidy little way of saying to the devs "Hey, don't screw this one up; like, really really don't screw this one up." Honestly though, the forums are way too small of a sample size anyway. I wish they would do their own poll on the subject via an in-game survey. I will say I'm surprised that 26% of voters don't care at all.

It's not that I don't care, it's just that a concept that hasn't been implemented yet has yet to affect how I feel about playing this game. And honestly, what to do with dupes is a question that is relatively far down the list of priorities for me.

I was thinking, being able to target specific cards in
booster crafting might still work if they removed
origins and the current block from the list of cards
that you can target. eg implement it so that currently
ori, akh and hou cards cannot be crafted. this will
allow players to play many sought after cards in
legacy but current competitive events will not be
stale because not everyone will have the required
cards while the events are being run to play the
    optimal deck.
