Switch Event Rewards

@Oktagon,

Can you please switch the event rewards off of OGW and AER? We've got these rares in spades but many of us would love to get BFZ and KLD as these sets had way more rares to collect. On the flip side many are probably missing EMN. How about just switching rewards up entirely? And maybe make the rare prizes randomly give a mythic? That'd be cool!

It's probably an old-fashioned view but I _want_ events to focus more on the blocks they were from, not less.
Sure, every event needs a basic booster reward in there somewhere, but the specific rewards should be the block of the event.
If there are some missing the real answer is to bring back the events from those blocks, not anything else...

But I wouldn't mind event specific restrictions, like for shadows you can play standard + the two shadows sets but NOT BFZ. Same with Zendikar events, it should be standard + Zendikar sets but NOT any shadows. This would differentiate the events nicely and make things far more interesting.

(Always have to include standard though.)

The point is that we'd like to get rares from the large set of the block and not the small since we've gotten oodles of the small set rares. For instance I have 2 to 9 copies of all the OGW rares but am still missing 7 BFZ rares, including some I really want.

There are a lot of SOI rares I would really like to have.

I can't for the life of me understand how the removal of "chance of a mythic" upgrade can be considered as anything but greedy by D3.  Even those that think the removal of mythic prizes was a good thing have a hard time justifying this as anything other.

I don't bother playing ****, I don't bother playing NoP, never play FirF, rarely play EmO, sometimes skip ToA.  I just join them with an hour left and collect a pack, a dupe rare, and usually 5-10 mana jewels.  Or I could spend a few hours in game playing the same boring objectives that have been around for months and years with the hope of winning 20 jewels?  No thanks.

Man I really hate you D3.  Game ruining greedy stupidity.

    Let's see.

John Doe bought lunch for Jane Doe every day last year. This year, John tells Jane she can no longer do that. Jane is angry at John. She calls John greedy.

    Pick 1:

    A) John should stop being greedy and keep buying Jane lunch.

B)Jane shouldn't be angry at John for no longer giving her free lunches.

    Lets see.

John Doe bought a sandwich at Jane Doe's sandwich shop every day last year. This year, Jane starts using stale bread, old meat, rotten vegetables and never has a menu change.  John stops buying sandwiches at Jane's shop.

    Pick 1:

    A) John should complain to Jane and advocate for her to make better sandwiches.

B ) John should shut-up, eat her nasty sandwich and continue supporting Jane's awful business.

I will save refrain from the condescending part of your comment and just flag your abusive post.

I don't see where John Doe calls Jane Doe greedy.

Oh, and Jane had been giving those sandwiches away. She does sell tacos though.

Well, clearly Jane Doe was using cheap **** ingredients because she was hoping no one would care and keep buying her sandwiches, leading to more profits.

And your analogy makes no sense because me and D3 aren't friends or colleagues.  I am their customer and I used to spend money on a product that was fun and rewarding.  Now I don't spend money because the game is neither fun nor rewarding.

Sandwiches were not mythics in this example.  Sandwiches are the entire customer experience.

Quite surprised I have to explain this to you.

You have to explain that to me again, because being more abstract is absolutely not the point of using an analogy.

Also, don't think I didn't notice you've completely diverted from your "they're greedy for not giving me free stuff" stance. Is it that hard to say you're wrong?

There is such a thing as having multiple arguments, I believe that the point was that beyond free stuff there has been a bit of a rift between the players and D3, part of that has to do  with the lack of development of the game by the old studio leading up to their closure and the coinciding drop in the value of prizes resulting in in game currency inflation and less interest in the paid for part of the product. Essentially there was a perfect storm of game killing decisions/events that would have irrevocably crippled a less beloved game. And as slight as it is things are starting to look up.

You probably shouldn't quote me when that's not what I said.  But yes, I think the company was acting in a greedy fashion when they hit the game with austerity.  However, I think it backfired on them.

And it's very hard to take a critique about not saying when I am wrong from you... I mean come on pot.

I always wanted to change my name to Suki... but I’m not sure how I got roped into this sandwich business.

You guys have been getting a rare?  Something must be different on my end because the prizes are just 2 packs and some runes. Definately not worth it at all.  Were the rewards for those events always that bad?  For some reason I remember having fun and aiming for the top progression reward during those blocks, but now there's no reason to join.

I was paraphrasing. Feel free to correct it if you want using the words "complain",  "greedy" and "free" that would make you look in the best possible way.

Prizes depend on what tier you are in, where you place and where your coalition places if it is an individual event. If you'd like to PM me in Discord, I'll point you to where we keep that info.

I seem to remember SOI & EMN cards packed together at the end. I was surprised they didn’t do it that way during AMK/HOU.

Well, this was a fun, stimulating conversation. I'd like to thank john doe and jane doe for this stirring debate.
