My thoughts on MPQ

Stepping out on a limb here... but I still enjoy MPQ. I have been playing daily (~1-3h day total !!!) since the game first came out in October 2013. I have the full complement of characters (not anywhere close to all the covers mind you), and started a great alliance. I like rolling through the characters to see who plays nice together, and some missions (say in Simulator), move me outside the comfort zone. The variety of characters and powers, plus the pseudo-predictable AI put some strategy into a match-3 game.

I don't see the game as, "cast red power, damage enemy" - it's more, "C,mon Cap, give us some cover before Hulk gets really pissed and wipes everybody out; Frank, put a bullet between Juggys eyes and lets get outta here... BANG! <sound of body slumping to the floor> " a little imagination, or maybe just too much coffee, but me? hey, I enjoy the game a little more that way.

I started a great Alliance right out of the Gate - and took in all who wanted in. No prerequisites, just needed a pulse (okay so one prerequisite...) as such there are veterans, mid-tiers, and newbies - and the promise that no one would get kicked (due to roster or game related performance; if they turn into a butthead, that's a different issue). No pressure, we all do our own thing - and lo and behold - we are a top 100 group. (we came in 105 once, but that's a long story) We have great chat and socialization, we are from all around (a lot of) the planet - and we have fun

I have strongly recommended some of the great articles and topics in these forums (esp Polarity, Eddiemon - thank you) to help others understand the game within the game - to play LESS, and perform BETTER.

I have been a victim of insane scaling only once (Heroic Venom - Hard) - everything since has been "just right" (i.e. near the end of interminably long PVE I start matching up against ~250s - and I simply avoid the 300+)

The PvP has never been better for me; the challenge and pace increase quite proportionally to my own - the higher score I have, the harder it is to increase. As it should be. (note I can finish ~900-1000; it's a time invested vs diminishing returns thang)

Any issues I have had with the game, the Devs have been quick to respond and resolve - within 48 h (a recent example is removal of commander status from people in our Alliance, at my request) - Thank you to the Devs for your work, and for your support.

I have NEVER subscribed to "tanking", and have only dropped to Prologue to heal a handful of times. And if it is even relevant, I play on Android.

Yes, I do wish the devs would get on with the storyline, and I wish that I could have some uber maxed 5/5/5 cowboys on my roster. I also wish I could have breakfast in St Lucia, dinner in Italy and that the Vancouver Canucks would win the Stanley Cup. None of which I see happening anytime soon.

I am also... disheartened... by the seemingly increasing and repetitive negativity on a game that is FREE and you play from CHOICE, and any money you invested is VOLUNTARY. There is that old adage, "never look a gift horse in the mouth"

I will keep playing MPQ, not out of a sense of duty, or of obligation, but because I do enjoy it. I will also drastically reduce the time I spend in the forums; y'all have been great, helpful, and more often than not, wildly entertaining.

and there it is. WAH-HOO!
