Afflict from Samut's second ability?

Hi all - is anyone else having inconsistent behavior with the afflict part of Samut's second ability? I've used it in three battles so far but it's only applied the afflict damage once.

    I haven't seen odd behavior with it and I've been using her for a few weeks now.

    She seems to be working properly did me as well, though I don't use her second ability as much as her first and third.

    been using her 2nd abilty everytime i use her.  works fine.  maybe it's related to the creature you're using.  I have no problem with Rhonas, and most of the 8/8 green/red creatures.
