Hour of devastation working as intended?

Right now it cant be cast if the opponent has no creatures in play, but the wording on the card does use wordibg to imply that it will only work if there are creatures.

In my opinion it should hit for the 12 damage to player regardless.

@Brigby would you mind asking the devs?

    Seems inconsistent since Nahiri's Wrath has a similar effect and will cast if your opponent has no creatures.

    @wereotter

    Yeah I was thinking the same...

    It's a shame because it's a nice rare grade card now, but would be a good mythic  when fixed.

    I for one appreciate the required creatures, trying at the very least to give the card at least a weak point. Imagine how bonkers it becomes combined with Hazoret's Undying Favor: 48 damage out of nowhere that also has the capability of wiping your board. This at least balances it out.
    As for the wording... bah, there is no consistency whatsoever on the topic anyway. Chandra's Undying Ignition comes to mind as a similar card and it also requires creatures exist on the board.
    Sidenote: Funny how people are complaining about this now that they have their hands on it. It's nice that Bolas can't cast it against your creatureless decks though, eh? :smile:

    I never encountered the spell against bolas, I didnt know he had it. But it'd'be fair that he'd'be able to play it i think.

    I disagree with the balancing argument, for one you are combining it with another card to push it over the top, for another you are assuming you have a hand full of them to play.
