Crystal and Karnak incoming

Since they were all but officially confrmed by Lockjaw's ability, anyone have any clue when they'll be available to recruit?

Josh Austin: "Lockjaw is awesome and his popularity is growing so finally being able to add a playable canine to “Marvel Puzzle Quest” just made the team really excited. One of the great things about Lockjaw in “Marvel Puzzle Quest” is his ability to teleport in other Inhumans, so while we aren’t adding Crystal and Karnak to the game as playable characters (at least it’s not planned right now), they are getting put in the game through Lockjaw."

I was wondering if someone was going to say something about this....  Even if the names themselves are within the characters powers.

Honestly, it won't be long before SS's are available showing us what they look like.

Yes. Technically they're in-game as elements (heh. get it) of Lockjaw's Royal Escort, however I think ROTBI was more-so referencing those two as upcoming, stand-alone characters. If that's the case, then we do not have official confirmation of that.

I hope Crystal comes in. She looks awesome. I know little about her as a character, but I love the design.

Crystal is Johnny Storm's ex-girlfriend and a former member of the FF! I like her a lot.

I've always liked both characters.

Of all the Inhumans, Crystal has had the most presence in the greater Marvel Universe. She was a member of the Avengers in the '90s and a substitute for Invisible Woman in the FF in the '60s. She also married, had a child with, and divorced Quicksilver. She later married Ronan the Accuser. 

Karnak's power to find the weakness in anything is really cool. I would like to see how that would translate in the game. It would be awesome if his power affected each character differently, although that would be a nightmare to program.

Perhaps they're being saved for when Inhumans season 2 airs (assuming it doesn't get cancelled).

As far as I'm aware there's a lot of red-tape to introduce a new character into the game which is one of the reasons why there are so many duplicate characters, the majority of polls that aren't "How would you rate us?" are usually "Who do you want to see a variant of?"

While they're not officially upcoming, there are dozens of current in-game characters they could have used in place of them for Lockjaw's powers which move both characters out of speculation territory.

While there has been a spate of media tie-ins, which is an expectation now, I think D3 has done a good job of keeping a balance of introducing characters who weren't previously available in MPQ land. Lately, it's happening more than ever.

There's also the consideration that there's artwork for both characters that already exist in-game.

There's also the fact that this hasn't been moved into the speculation thread despite a warning.

If they're going to solely be a secondary power then this will spell dark times for MPQ. You're doing well, D3, with original characters. An official announcement for Karnak and Crystal will actually be beneficial over the fifth variant of Black Widow and co.

Crystal has always been the heart of the Inhumans. Before Marvel pushed to make them the new X-Men, they were these kooky, isolationist group dripping with that Kirby magic. Crystal wanted more though. She wanted to leave their little bubble, which was a literal bubble, and see the world. She was like the superhero version of the princess Jasmine, sans arranged marriage. Classic and fun stuff.

I love the art on her a Karnak, so I hope they both make it into the game.

I'm not disagreeing with you; in fact, I would like to see them as new, separate characters as well. 

I just wanted to point out that while the bolded statement is true (Crystal basically does what Professor X does when an ally fires a power; Karnak is similar to Yondu when his arrow is in flight with an added stun mechanic), I think the whole point of Lockjaw's blue is that he teleports in Inhuman characters. Besides him, there's only four others in the game. They needed two more to fill in the missing colors, and it would have broken the theme to just slap Prof X and Yondu in there. 

So to me it makes sense to add in these two in this fashion. Hopefully it will lead to something more, but I wouldn't be too terribly surprised if their only appearance remains tethered to Lockjaw.

I've got 5 bucks down on them being released as a 3*/5* combo. Crystal as the 3* and Karnak as the 5*

While Karnak is known to hate Stark and a head to head (civil war style) fight between him and Tony would be fun, I also don't think they would be released too soon in MPQ. Maybe if Civil War 2 ever makes its way in the game, there would be more reasons to add him or Crystal, since Inhumans are crucial to that event.

Based on early reviews of the premiere they showed in Imax theaters, I wouldn't hold your breath.  This is purely my opinion, but I wouldn't be surprised if the very negative buzz on the series killed any ongoing development of fully formed versions of Karnak and Crystal.  But we get Lockjaw!  Seriously, I'm going to have to run Lockjaw, Devil Dinosaur, and Howard the Duck as a combo one of these days.
