That point
I am at that point.
Game seems to be pushing too hard wanting me to play more than I am willing to give. By itself it is fun and addictive I am more than capable of keeping myself engaged but with alliances and now seasons the game seems to be a little too blatantly preying on my addictive tendencies, encouraging me to lose more sleep than I am already, to feel bad about missing even one day of play, to feel bad if I let my alliance down. I don't like that feeling.
I am at that point where I actually feel like I could break the addiction and walk away.
Maybe I will go outside, that sounds nice

Honestly, I think this would be an ideal time to take a break.
Loki covers aren't really crucial for progression, and Falcon isn't an extraordinary character either. The sim isn't awarding first completion iso. And who knows if this weekend's PvP is any better. (A Loki PvP would be hilarious.)
Try picking up the game after the sim is over, maybe we'll finally have an new episode to keep you engaged.0 -
i get this same feeling from time to time...most recently as the hunt ended, the falcon tourney came and went, followed quickly by the start up of the simulator, army of one, and lightning rounds.
it felt like a lot of pressure and not fun at all. i posted in my alliance chat that i was going to unplug for a day or 2 bc i felt a bit burnt out and everyone understood. i shut my phone off for the night and didnt play MPQ again until i was ready and recharged (only about 1.5 days).
if u feel like this, i suggest a brief reprieve. it can do wonders. good luck.

At the end of the day, it IS only a game. Liking a game is good. It's a great game overall. It's ok to play 12 hours and get that sense of achievement. But if you're burnt out, take a breather. This game is an endless marathon. Missing out on some covers won't hurt. There are tons of events to play. Don't play them all. You don't need to. In pve you don't need to play 24/7. I placed top 20 in my bracket for the falcon putting in 3 hours on average a day. Granted a couple days I played non stop but I work 12 hour shifts , 4 days a week which limits my play time greatly.
As for your alliance, if they are compelling you to play, then you should evaluate its probably not the guild for you. My guild is pretty casual with even the guild leader on hiatus due to life. We place top 50 consistently. Talk to your alliance. They'll probably understand. Go out and enjoy the sun. Read on rubber banding and play the pvp for the covers you want. I promise you, you'll feel more refreshed cutting back time.0 -
The beauty of being a veteran is that you a) know how the game is played and b) have a decent roster. Weeks/months later, you can come back and still do well enough in that next PVE to get one of the new covers (even though you'd probably be missing 1 or more of the essential characters from the intervening PvE).0

Good thinking. D3 is strip mining at extreme speed -- what you feel is natural and taking a walk makes sense all the way. You win by it and if others follow D3 may actually get incited in thinking to get the fun back in the game instead of forcing more and more grinding.
This supposed to be a game not work. What it mostly become.0 -
The walk away seems like the liberating choice.0

I think the Falcon really kicked a lot of us in the chin. Events should never be that long, ever.0

It's summer time, you should be outside enjoying the weather! I've cut back massively on my play time and it feels so nice.0

I like it when MPQ feels like a game and I throw money at it when it feels like a game. But when it feels like work, when it is not rewarding or I feel obligated to play then I start looking for other games to play and spend money on.
I feel rewarded when I look at the rewards for hard nodes and see 500 iso in the mix. I am willing to grind for that. I am willing to take on enemies 2x or 3x the level of my team to try to earn that 500 iso. It satisfies my addictive nature.
Lightning rounds: I loved playing furiously for 90 minutes to earn that 3 star cover I needed. LRs were the most satisfying pvp experience this game had to offer but the change to tokens as rewards have destroyed LRs. The excitement in pvps comes from wanting the reward - if the reward is 80% chance of a 2 star cover - I see no reason to compete.
The rewards need to be rewarding for MPQ to feel like a game.0
