Mysterious Dust

In case anyone else encounters this I am writing this post. I messaged d3 about it already. I was in a game and Dust the other effect of Grind was triggered and exiled one of my creatures. The funny thing is Grind was never cast. Took screenshots of the entire battle log.

This is most likely it. If your opponent discards Grind, Dust's Athermath gems will activate without having to cast it. It's a strategy I use all the time.

Yes that's it. I think that's a glitch but He used Farm. Then market was triggered causing two discards in his hand. I had destroyed the farm on the gem board before it could be used though.

You can't just throw grind in the trash and get that effect. It has to be destroyed in your hand by you or your opponent. Is this a glitch?

Throwing a card in the trash from your hand exiles the card, it does not end up in the graveyard. The back sides of both Farm and Grind are triggered from the graveyard.

Yes that's true but was it the designers intent to get free aftermath casting by just destroying your hand.

Furthermore if this is the designers intent it would be nice if the system alerted you as to what aftermath effects have just been cast.

While on the subject of graveyards. Does anyone know...If your opponent steals your creature and you kill it , is it supposed to go into your opponents graveyard?

I'm pretty sure it does. I had an opponent steal a dread wanderer with lay claim this weekend, I killed it and then they were able to get it back by matching the activated gems.

    1. Yes it was the designer's intent to get you to discard your own cards to trigger aftermath effects. That's why Grind is so weak when casted and Dust very powerful when the gems are activated.

    2. You can click on the activated gems and it will bring up the card face.

On a busy gem board which can be filled with energized gems and activated gems and timer gems and all sorts of gems it is all to easy to miss an UNANNOUNCED gem placement.

It does not even show up in the battle log.

Ok I have the same problem. When an opponent steals my creature and I kill it the creature goes to my opponents graveyard but according to standard magic rules it should go to my graveyard.

temporary steal (eg turn agianst) it goes into your
graveyard. permanent steal (eg lay claim) it goes
    into your opponents graveyard.
