Well, for starters, they work for D3.
Fixate much? That is a pretty big leap of logic... complain about a group of new hires that you've seen nothing from yet and your only stance is they work for D3? Be like complaining about how bad the new team, Las Vegas Golden Knights, are playing the only reasoning you have to do so is that they are part of the NHL

Hey Everyone - Thank you for your questions, we are still working with former members of the team in the transition to the new team and once we are able to announce the new team, we will share information about them.  We hope to be able to do this before end of the month.  Thanks for your patience!

Translation:  "Hey Everyone - Thank you for your questions, we are still working with former members of the team in the transition to the new team and once we are able to announce the new team, we will share information about them.  We hope to be able to do this before end of the month.  Thanks for your patience!"

Sometimes it means exactly what it means.

Hear, hear. I mean, what have D3 ever done to earn such distrust?
Well, to their credit, they never actually lied, just used enough vague or misleading language that we have been trained to mistrust the obvious meaning of statements. This one however I am taking at face value, even if they have the new studio lined up there are several reasons for not telling us who it is, not the least of which is the possibility that the deal could fall through.
But that behavior is inherently misleading in and of itself. In fact, I believe it's exactly what shteev is implying in his tongue-in-cheek question.

@LakeStone we are fast approaching the end of the month (for some of us its even a new year already).  Any updates you can share?  With a new set coming out tomorrow it would be nice to know where the game stands

    That analogy isn't quite accurate.

It would be more like complaining that it doesn't matter who the New York Jets sign as a free agent, because they're going to mismanage the talent and put the team in a position to lose anyway.

So sure, they can hire whatever devs they want, but if they're still beholden to existing D3 mandates, it's hard to envision anything improving.
I get the perspective you're giving,  but I disagree AND agree with your analogy. Using your analogy... one hand shows the annoyance with New York jets (D3) and they are ruining the sport.  On the other there is griping that the free agents (new devs) are ruining the game but they have yet to play one game. The former I agree with but it is not what I was addressing regarding this thread. The latter is.

Hi - In regards to development of the game, we have members of the former team assisting with the transition of the development team and once we are able to announce the new developer, we will be sure to share with the community.  As we mentioned before, some of the short term activities will likely be delayed but we are working with the new team to make a fun game experience.  We plan to share these details soon once we are able to make an announcement.

They're dragging this thing out. I wonder how much longer they can string people along before the closing is announced.

What makes you think they'll announce it @Corn Noodles?

I don't think "they'll announce it" so much as WotC will announce a new direction in digital licensing that D3 will have to put out a statement on after the news leaks. Much like the Hibernum situation.

Thanks for the non answer d3. Really drumming up faith from the community. No money for you!

Why would they spend resources training up new devs if closure is planned?

@Brigby do you all have any idea how bad you're screwing this up?

Somehow these fears seem more real when you put it like that @Volrak. You're usually the voice of reason.

Exactly how is this Brigby's fault? If the uppers say "zip it, Brigby" then he zips it. No less expected of any employee when a merger or major change in company dynamics occurs. You. Zip. It. Or lose your job.
Eventually we all will be informed. Be patient

Then that isn't D3s fault as much as it's WotC. If D3 even knew this scenario was going to occur... they wouldn't be "stringing you on." Its not a conspiracy. Sheesh

@Brigby has been nothing but pleasant and as helpful as he can be, it is not his fault that he is limited in what he can say to us. Every time he's shown up he comunicated what he was told and often apologized for the gaps in his information. Yes the lack of communication is an issue, but vent your bile where it belongs.

My wording was poor I didn't intend to solely blame Brigby, but rather all of 3dgo which does include him.
Communications is clearly part of his responsibility so he is not blameless here, but I didn't mean it was all his fault.
