Never run 4* Luke Cage PvP ever, ever, ever again.

Good freakin lord. It's bad enough having to chew through 50,000 HP on a guy who can one shot you with a good enough cascade (gotta love those boards that give you nothing, you make a match and end up blindly giving the enemy the colour they need, rinse and repeat 15 moves), but he also lays down stupid powerful protect tiles.

AND they boosted Iron Fist, a fast, heavy damage dealer that helps power up the already powerful Luke. AND Elektra's there to steal your stuff.

Good lord, this has to be the worst PvP I've ever played. I was at 600 points and I just lost 3 in a row so I'm down to 550. Why did this have to be on season!? The first match of the season and I might have to tap out before getting to the second event token!

Damn my luck for only ever getting blue Iron Fist covers. I'd have champed him ages ago otherwise but every time I get him it's almost always blue. Even then this event would *still* be a painful slog.

The climbing was kind of fun. The falling not so much.

I also only get blue IF covers. I'd love to champ that guy, but it's nowhere near happening for me.

The PVP was awesome, you just need more champ levels on your Cage.

A medium-sized Fist (310+) and Cage (330+) can take out base level champed Panthos with a green - black - red combo.

    So awesome.

    Well how sassy of you.

From what I could see, the PvP was doable mostly due to having a good Iron Fist. That was the primary combo in the PvP, and that makes total sense because the characters were designed to work together.

That said...a lot of Cages had 48k HP. More had 55K HP. Even with a good team that's still an epic slog. That's a huge bowl of raw coffee to chew through.

And yeah I lost a lot, mostly due to awful boards, and yeah this is a vent topic. But still it was painful to do this as a *season* PvP. Having it as a fun side PvP would have been fine, but as the first PvP of the season? No-one in my alliance got very far in it. We all tapped out way earlier than usual. The points in my bracket are lower, too.

My Fist is ony 5/2/5 (in reality, about 10/2/9), so I haven't champed him yet and didn't use him once in this, and was one match away from reaching 900 in slice 5 (lost actively once, defensively twice to champed 5* at 867 and shielded). Started with Cage/Nova/R&G, ended with Cage/R&G/Medusa (which actually got me 2 defensive wins in addition to those 2 unshielded losses).

I also struggled early, but switched to R4G/G4mora and hit 900 with relative ease. Gamora wasn't boosted, just came for stuns and to whip the raccoon- when R4G is boosted, a first-turn cascade can eat up 25k health. Also had luck with stunning TUs, and 4fist blue TUs as well to power up Cage yellow. I thought it was an interesting puzzle to figure out... will play this instead of She-hulk any day.

In closing, "whip the raccoon" sounds like a funny euphemism. For what, I leave to the reader.

This was one of them most fun PvPs I'd played in a while.  Played with C4ge, hobofist, and bl4de.

Admittedly I tried to snipe so I never experienced the falls, only climb, but I've never before climbed 0 to 850 in one sitting without burning through health packs.

Ditto for me. I found this one quite easy with Grocket and Gamora. Grocket doing over 4,000 damager per match allowed me to take down the first opponents with match damage only (avoiding Cage's protect tiles). and Gamora's blue allowed me to stun Cage before firing my powers (again avoiding protect tiles).

OTOH, I reached top 25 with a score of 914, which is normally only good enough for top 50 in my slice, so maybe others weren't finding it so easy.

Mmm... I didn't think it was that bad. My Heroes For Hire was hitting for 6k per fortified tile, which took everyone down pretty darn quick.

First event wit hmy freshly champed Phoenix. Having a champ 5 definitely changed Versus. My previous strategy with only 4* champs does not work anymore. That being said, I still hit 900. Albeit, with more problems than previous events, but not impossible.

It was pretty wild that cage4's red can do around 50,000 damage when boosted and there are no enemy special tiles. All in all, it was the same as any other pvp to me.

I don't like playing against Cage generally because you pretty much have to start with a slow play mindset.  Firing anything premature just gets you in trouble, particularly if you can't deny that yellow.  And when you finally do fire a power you've got to remember to flip Cage out of front position to avoid losing your tiles, which I forgot to do more often than I care to admit.  I was so happy Elektra was boosted - the ability to flip those tiles allows you to do something other than gather enough AP until you can down the whole team.

Was a tough slog certainly and those 55k Luke's and 35k fist took a while to kill but I did like the challenge, though I probably wouldn't have if not for my very own maxed Luke and iron fist

Where do you find these tiny, cute Lukes?
Mine had 77K and did 70K damage on red.

My whole team's hp may not have even been 114k... And my team was all boosted 4*s.

I saw some massive Cage monsters to fight this event. But despite the pain in the ****, I whole-heartedly approve of that PvP and hope we start to see more of these sprinkled in here and there.

How nice to see that the best team out there may not be a 5* combo? That utilizing some boosted 4* with synergy could hake up the meta for an event or two? PVP is getting seriously stale with the same events repeated over and over, with the same rewards. This was a nice change of pace and needs to happen more often.

Maybe this would be a good place for a cl9 and cl10 split. I don't know how they would manage running different events considering season, but if people can't compete with 4* PvP 's like this, then make them separate.

Solution... Use Cage, 4* IF, and 4* Gamora to keep Cage stunned before firing off. Worked 80% of the time for me unless the tiles were mean to me. Have some Medusa and Loki team ups ready too
