PVE means player vs the environment.

1/2 of the PVE model is not vs the environment but vs other players. Technically PVE in this game is just as PVP as is the PVP mode.

Remove placement,  roll a portion of the rewards into progression. The top 50 lose a bit of rewards, the bottom 51 - 1000 gain so much more enjoyment.   This fixes scaling, Slumming, the game feeling like a chore and so much more. Almost nothing would improve the game more than this simple fix.

    That's why it's called Story Mode, not PVE.

    Or at least... Eliminate the schedule...
    If story mode really needs player competition can we at least have it be for faster clears or something? Being forced to play at specific times for placement robs some of the enjoyment

    I completely agree with the eliminate the schedule statement.  There's no reason for it.  It's all based on the speed you clear things in a 24 hour window, let us choose any window and be thrown together with others who also picked their own 24 hour window for placement.  The feeling forced (If you want to place reasonably well) to play at times of the day that may not be convenient for you is one of the worse aspects of the game by far.
