Allow the purchase of a color of choice in Heroes for Hire

Heroes for Hire has had several changes since being implemented before settling on its current format, offering one cover of a specific color for the 4* character featured in the Crash of the Titans.

Recently, Moon Knight was supposed to have his green color featured, but the purple one was instead. This was very disappointing to anyone planning to buy a green color. @Brigby says this will be rectified the next time Moon Knight comes up in rotation, but that's at least 250 days from now, when it should be his black color. If the green color is merely substituted for the black one, then people who want to buy a black color are disappointed.

Since HfH was tied to Crash instead of the Behemoth Burrito, I personally have felt the rotation has become too long, especially if you're waiting on a say the third color when the first one is being featured. Under the current set up, that would mean waiting close to two years to get to that third color, and that time gap is only getting bigger as more 4* characters are rotated into the Crash lineup, and therefore the HfH store.

That's why I'm proposing to offer the ability to buy a color of the player's choice. When a player taps on the buy button, a separate window should pop up with an icon for each color of the cover asking the player to choose one. When they select it, there should be another window asking them to confirm it is indeed the color they want. Hopefully this cuts down on players "accidentally" selecting the wrong color and flooding Customer Service with requests for color changes or resets, although CS should have a strict no substitute policy. Adding the confirmation screen should be sufficient enough that the player has to accept responsibility for any mistaps.

Once a player taps the button confirming the selected color, the player then gets that color with all the extra resources. The store is then locked as it normally is until the next character rotates in.

This would help mitigate the ever-lengthening gap between when a character's specific color is featured in the store. It also makes the current situation we have with Moon Knight irrelevant, as there would be no more accidentally programming the wrong color that then needs to somehow be changed or compensated for later. And limiting it to one color of the player's choice means that hopefully the system can't be overly abused, as it's still at least 250 days (and growing) before a character is featured in the store again. It may even prompt some sales.

A color of your choice and you're only allowed to buy 1 cover- seems fair. It might limit their sales for the store though.

I suppose in the long run this could be true, in the sense players could purchase a cover of a character once every ~250 days rather than being forced to wait until the specific color comes up.

On the other hand, it could also prompt sales in certain situations. Let's use Mordo as an example, since he's up next. It should be his purple cover. Say you have a 5/2/5 Mordo that you want to respec to 3/5/5, but just can't seem to pull that last blue.

Under the current set up, you'd be out of luck, and have to wait at least 500 days until his blue cover comes up, and that number will grow ever larger as more 4*s are added to the Crash rotation. So no sale for them in the short term, and odds are you'd get that blue cover the next time it rolls around, although maybe not as dilution will also increase. At any rate, the odds of them getting a sale from you in 500+ days probably aren't high either.

Under this proposal, you could get your Mordo blue right away, even if that means maybe buying a Logan's Loonies to make it happen. So what was once no sale now and potentially no sale in the future becomes much more likely a sale now, in some cases meaning players buy HP to make it happen.

Not to mention that you'll probably have found that Mordo blue cover somewhere else in 500 days. So yeah, more short term buys and theoretically fewer long-term buys, but probably not in a measurable way. I agree that this seems like a good solution to the insanely long HfH rotation (780 days total as of Yondu. Or is it 795?).
