What to do while waiting to transition to 3*

Been playing this game for a while (got GSBW from daily reward last week) but only recently joined an alliance and started competing for covers. I'm pretty far from making the transition to 3* and been lurking this forum for a while so I guess I could use some opinions of what to do, specially with my ISO.

So here's my roster

As you can see, my 3* roster is pretty spread out so no one is useful yet. I'm guessing I could use Hulk if I get a few more covers for him but even that might take a while. I usually can't guarantee Top 10 or my alliance gets out of the top 100, so 3* covers are kinda coming in pairs instead of trios.

My question is, should I already start saving my ISO now or should I lvl some of these 2* too? Besides OBW (can't get covers for her to save my life) is it worth it leveling Wolvie/Daken/maybe Ares? I might tweak the builds a little bit for the others but I'll just see as the covers come.

In these PvE events, it pays to have a wide selection of characters to use. So, I would definitely level up Ares and Dakan while you are stuck in transition limbo. Maybe even Magneto as he plays nicely with C.Storm.

Yeah, that's how I ended up pumping ISO in CStorm. Looking at the current event, I'm guessing Ares is the way to go. Moonstone is also buffed but she doesn't seem to be worth the effort right now.
The problem with 2* Magneto is that I have only 1 purple cover (meanwhile could have maxed his red twice...) and that's kinda his whole thing, so I'm waiting. If those purple covers start showing up, I might consider him.

I think your 2* levels are good.

You have a maxed Thor and near-max AWolv, so leveling Ares isn't really necessary. Ares is a lot of fun to play, though. Daken is great on defense, but also not really necessary. I actually made my entire 2*->3* transition without Ares, Daken, or OBW (was stuck with a 1/2/1 OBW for the longest time).

I'd advise saving your Iso while pumping a bit here and there for event-buffed characters. You've got a good bit of Hulk, and a bit of a start on LThor and Mr. Rogers. UberDaken is coming, almost certainly with an accompanying deluge of covers, so try to get as much of him as you can. You might be able to get him into fighting form just from upcoming event rewards.

I've been avoiding leveling Ares for that reason, way too much overlap. But seriously considering Daken, I always lose a lot of points being attacked and he annoys me way too much when I'm attacking, so I guess he'll be good for defense. Might work well with Hulk's black if I manage to level him. As a sidenote, just got a black cover for him using a regular token from lightning round, so I'll take that as a sign.

Well, there's also the occasional Dark Avengers and ladies only tournies to prep for. Ares/Draken/Moonstone and OBW/cStorm/Moonstone? I know this is something I have to work on as well.

I second this. You could make a game of it! See how much ISO you can accrue. I'm at 150K, and perhaps one of these days I'll sink it all playing the Standard Token slot machine.

I would just stash your iso. Remember that it takes 170k to get a 3* to level 141, so you need a ton of it once you start to accrue enough covers. I wouldn't recommend leveling Daken: while he's okay in 2* land, once you go into 3* land he'll become largely useless. OBW is the only character that I would recommend leveling to 85 given your current roster while you wait.

Yep, this.

My 2*-3* transition happened in fits and starts. I have 4 L85 2*s, so a 3* isn't an improvement unless you can push it past L100. So, I put barely any Iso into any of my 3*s for a long time, but then two heavy hitters reached 10 covers in quick succession, so I burst-leveled them to L102, then about a week later, I burst-leveled Hulk straight from L25 to L130 for the PVP that buffed him. In total, I probably used about 400K Iso. Another ~200k Iso and a half-dozen useful covers later, I've got 3 L141s now. Even so, I have 2 13-cover 3*s that are still unleveled.

tl;dr - Stockpile your Iso, esp. when you're close to a viable 3*. You'll really need it.

Hulk and Patch almost useful now, and they seem like they are actually good together. It's been a while since Hulk rewards but who knows when I can get more Patch covers from rewards. It'll probably take a couple months to get them over 100.

Ended up spending ISO on a whim to max Wolvie, Ares and OBW, so far not regretting it, and there's not a single interesting 2* left to level so I guess I have nothing to do but stash ISO now.
