New player thoughts

The game kept harassing me to give a rating, so I finally did rate it so I could no longer be annoyed. I marked 3 out of 5 and the game had a sad over that. Here was my response why:

"I like this game-building decks is fun.

The events are repetative-needs to be more variety.

We need tiered tournaments. There has to be a way to implement real time player vs. player. If the connection would be lost, then the programming could take over to auto-play so that the match wouldn't be lost until a connection could be established. There could be a 20 or 30 second timer per turn.

The current tier system is terrible. I'm in silver and I find myself playing against decks with a lot of mythics and masterpieces. Why not set tiers that we can choose to enter. Example:

Bronze--common and uncommon cards only
Silver--common to rare cards only
Gold--common to mythic cards only
Platinum--common to masterpiece

There are far too many duplicates in the packs--I spent about 30 dollars US on the new card release and the duplicate rate was about 40%. I've spent a total of about 80 to 100 bucks in two months. I'm done spending money on this game beacuse it's a rip off."

Hey welcome to the game, I hope you are having fun despite the flaws and the, let's face it, overly negative and confrontational forums. Keep at it, build up your library and maybe watch the variety of cards you use till you build yourself up (advice I ignored and am now feeling massively outclassed in gold)

Thanks for the post--it's always great to hear a new player's perspective, especially regarding the tier system.

If it's any consolation, duplicates frustrate all of us.

Also, I recently tiered up from gold to platinum a couple of weeks ago, and have noticed little to no difference in the types of decks I am facing, thanks to the standard PvP format.

I'm playing for around 2 months, have 3 mythics, and like 30 rares, I'm gold tier and I'm usually not going bad in the events.

Ah, and just got my Amonkhet booster for 30th daily reward this month. Got 3 uncommon. All from my 26 uncommon out of 55 total. Lucky, huh? This is ridiculous. In fact, I believe I didn't get a single new card in 2 days (except for some HOU common), even considering how small my collection is (less than 500 cards).
