Daken vs Wolverine

Thanks to the events last week, I finally managed to max cover Daken after he'd been sitting on 5/2 for about 3 months but while I was waiting for covers to appear I maxed out Wolverine.

Is there any reason why I should bother dumping ISO into Daken now? He's not going to be a high enough level to do any useful colour tanking (CStorm will be taking green, OBW has black and purple covered) and I've got Punisher (at 1/3/4 but with covers coming hopefully) eagerly taking whatever I can throw at him at the moment.

  • You're using C.Storm/OBW/Punisher... Where's Wolverine anyway?

With the above C.Storm/OBW, I'd recommend MN.Mag as your 3rd wheel to abuse that raw power with C.Storm.

Daken's use over Wolverine is when you have someone who wants to use Green (C.Storm) but you still want strike tiles. For me I paired it Thor/Ares + OBW + Daken to taste the rainbow. Your combination is a little... different.

I've been using CStorm + OBW + MNMags as my go to team when I can - Wind Storm spam all the way icon_e_biggrin.gif

Punisher isn't really battle ready just yet; he's about 500 HP behind Wolverine and 2800 damage from the slash is hard to give up. I'm switching between the two of them paired with OBW and the loaner Falcon in Top Gun to pretty good effect.

So Daken is worth upgrading but not at the expense of someone more useful like Punisher or Hulk.
  • Depends entirely on you really, I think your team benefits from a Wolverine more so than a Daken because you're running with those 3 as your main rather than the more common Thor/Ares which covers R/Y/G. Furthermore, you're transitioning into 3* territory, so the less ISO you pump into your 2*s, the better.

Personally, I followed a different philosophy because I preferred a balanced character pool, so since I capped all my 3*s at L85, I was perfectly fine investing into Daken (furthermore at the point of time when I invested into Daken, he was buffed in Simulator). He's not as relevant with so many L85s running around, but he's always a good backup whenever my main characters run outta juice and I'm outta health packs.
  • Daken's actually pretty darn good compared to other level 85s even with his lower level cap.

The only problme is that due to his lower level cap he usually won't be tanking anything which reduces the value of his regen.

To put things in perspective, Daken pretty much owns every character in the game at ultra high levels (300+) and the difference is not even close. A level 395 Daken will probably beat a lot of 3 level 395 teams by himself. Do you really think him losing 16 levels at the 2* range really makes him that much weaker? Yes his inability to tank is a significant drawback (because you want him to tank), but his offense output is still top notch for his tier.
