Hi all, long time lurker, first time poster. I'm currently on day 187 and I need some advice on who I should dump my 350k stored ISO into. I've been using a 3/5/5 Punisher with a 3/5/5 OBW and typically whatever character is buffed for an event. Both are currently 85. I'd like to get my LazyThor leveled, but he's only 0/3/3. I was using IM40 for a while as a battery for Punisher and OBW, but he's not really useful for much besides that. I'm thinking of leveling Punisher to 141, but I don't know who else to put my ISO into or if I should spread it out more. I'm thinking maybe putting it into The Hood to eventually replace OBW with his Ap stealing ability. I also have 3300 HP stored up, so I don't mind investing in a cover or two if I have to. Here is my roster:

OBW: 3/5/5 lvl 85
Punisher: 3/5/5 lvl 85
GSBW: 5/3/5 lvl 85
Psylocke: 4/1/5 lvl 79
Spider-man: 4/4/5 lvl 75
IM40: 5/2/4 lvl 70
Hulk: 5/2/3 lvl 65
LazyThor: 0/3/3 lvl 64
Hawkeye: 5/5/3 lvl 62
Ares: 4/4/5 lvl 56
Wolverine X-force: 2/1/1 lvl 54
Rag: 4/3 lvl 51
Cap (2*): 5/3/5 lvl 50
Storm Classic: 5/5/3 lvl 50
Wolverine Patch: 3/5/4 lvl 50
Doctor Doom: 4/2 lvl 50
Black Panther: 2/1/2 lvl 41
Invisible Woman: 0/2/1 lvl 34
IM35: 5/5/3 lvl 29
The Hood: 5/4/2 lvl 28
Magneto Classic: 5/3/0 lvl 28 (damn elusive purple cover...)
Cap (3*): 2/1/0 lvl 28
Loki: 1/5 lvl 25
Storm Modern: 5/3/5 lvl 18
Falcon: 1/1/0 lvl 18
Torch: 0/1/1 lvl 18
Daredevil: 4/5/2 lvl 15
Moonstone: 3/5/5 lvl 13
Magneto Marvel Now: 3/5/5 lvl 6
Bag-Man: 4/4/5 lvl 6
Thor (2*): 3/5/5 lvl 6
Wolverine (2*): 5/5/3 lvl 6
Bullseye: 5/5 lvl 6
Daken 5/5 lvl 6
Yelena: 5/5 lvl 1

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The Punisher has a lot of utility almost regardless of who his teammates are so you can't go wrong maxing him. Same with Spidey and the Hood. Beyond that I'd wait until you have more covers for some muscle like Panther, Thor, or Cap. Make Magneto a cover priority too.

Thanks for the advice, Dormammu! Would you suggest leveling all 3 (Punisher, Hood, and Spidey) to 141? I'm pretty sure the 350k iso would let me do that. I'd have to sink some of my HP into two covers to max out The Hood. If I were to level him, I'd have to get at least 1 cover to max out blue.

Yep, Dormammu is right on the money. Go max Punisher right meow.

I'll add that L141 Punisher with Hood and OBW as support is a good team. I don't personally field that team, since I use LT + BP + CMags, but several forumites used it in the Punisher tourney, and were quite happy with it.
  • Punisher would definitely be your first priority. I'd be hesitant to tell you to max spidey as he is not level dependant and is not fast in pvp. He's worth considering, but will eventually take a back seat to a better attack team. Patch is a very good investment if you go for 5g, though you'd have to rely on a spam character to accompany him. Your 5blue cmag can definitely do that, but if he was maxed it would be much better. Hood is an amazing character, i use him whenever I can, but dont max him as there is very little point at most he should be kept at lvl 140 to lower his tile strengths a bit. Hulk and ares are decent characters also. Hulk is more of a scarecrow and ares is good for stomping weaker teams.

Thanks for the replies, HailMary and Shamushyeah! I think I'll get Punisher up to 141 asap. I'll probably level Spidey to 100ish so he has some HP because his abilities aren't level specific. The Hood is really intriguing and I think I'm going to use some HP to boost his blue ability to 5 and then level him up as well. Two other questions that have come up:

    1. Would leveling Punisher to 141 and Spidey and The Hood to about 100ish affect scaling? One of the reasons I've kept everyone on my team at 85 and below is that I'm not facing crazy lvl 230 or lvl 395 teams. Things are relatively doable with the team I have. I know it's an inevitability that they'll all be leveled up, but is jumping the gun and shooting Punisher to 141 going to screw me with the types of mobs I'll be fighting?

    2. Is it worth moving CMags up to his max level I can get him to (lvl 98) even if I have no covers in his purple ability? From what I'm reading about him, his ideal build would be 5/3/5 or 5/4/4, so I've got the blues covered no problem.

    Thanks again for the replies!

    1. Not really, no. PVE scaling depends on performance. I was running L115-L141 LThor (got his final covers halfway through), L130 Hulk, L75 Shieldbro throughout The Hunt, and the max level I saw was L203. My starting nodes in Simulator are all under L50. A fellow Djangolier running 3xL100s saw L295. Basically, scaling is dampened for three reasons: a. planetary alignment, b. the game's emotional state at any given moment, c. you consistently lose health in PVE fights.

    2. A lotta high-level players are gravitating toward 5/5/3 CMags, because pairing him with a good strike-tile generator <cough> Punisher <cough> leads to lots of damage within a single turn. CMags blue and red are low-cost, and their costs only get lower with each additional cover. His purple is a massive nuke, which is awesome in its own right. I have a 4/4/5 CMags, because those are the covers I got, and I don't use strike tiles. But, 5/5/3 is a optimla build to pair with a strike tile guy, while 5/4/4 is an interesting compromise.
