Voting System for Commander Removal?

Just thinking of ways to remove inactive commanders, or if you inadvertently promote someone to commander

1)Maybe set up a voting system where all other commanders must unanimously vote out a commander
2) Or have a majority of commanders decide if another commander gets voted out... ties result in non-commanders voting?

I understand that there will probably be some social issues or potential hostile takeovers, but just thinking something is better than having to be stuck with an inactive player for the duration of the alliance

  • It's not a perfection solution either, but maybe have an inactivity timer. If a commander is inactive (i.e. doesn't win at least a single match in a day) for certain period (1 week? 2 weeks?), then rest of alliance can vote to kick him/her out as you suggested.

If there is no other commander in the alliance, the oldest remaining member of the alliance gets auto-promoted to commander. Or some other rule that makes sense like most active member instead of oldest member.

    Pros:
    - inactive commander can be removed from the alliance
    - inactivity timer prevents rogue members from kicking out commander at any time
    - alliance won't be left without a commander
    - vote still allows the alliance members to user their judgement in case the commander is on vacation or has other reason for being inactive as opposed to the system automatically kicking them out
