Color Mastery / Difficulty Question

So, color mastery... aside from determining who you're matched against, does it also determine difficulty in other ways? This current Fate Is Rarely Fair, for instance. I've seen absolutely ridiculous cascades on the part of the AI, the most recent example being a Gideon 1 putting 14 points of damage on the board first turn. I understand that being in Platinum means I'm gonna see crazy decks full of mythics and rares, and all of the inherent shenanigans that entails. I'm just curious if that Platinum ranking increases the difficulty in the form of increased cascades for the AI (sorry devs, I can't believe it's completely random. Any self respecting coder can create an algorithm that creates the appearance of randomness while being anything but.)

Officially the only difference between the tiers is who you play against and how good the rewards are.  I'm pretty sure the AI cascades equally annoyingly on all levels, although it has been a long time since I wasn't platinum.  People with way more time on their hands then myself have done a full analysis on this subject somewhere here on the forums (sorry, can't find the link) and found that it's not really that bad.

Fate is rarely fair was always a terrible event.  The problem is you get players trying to spam vehicles against highly optimized non-vehicle rage decks built for the win only.

I'm starting to skip the lame events now.  As strange as it sounds, I would rather do more work than play in that event.

I rather enjoy playing firf exactly for that reason.

Firf rewards control over aggression and suits my style more.

FirF has been relatively easy lately because the only people in platinum still playing it hardcore are also playing with decks suited to hit objectives, therefore making them easier to beat. I like winning, so I like going against easier decks.

Maybe it's just me then haha... i'd say half of the decks i'm using are running vehicles for the bonus objectives and the other half are just whatever i think will be fun or will win.  It just seems that every match is an outright struggle from the door.  Sometimes, that's alright, don't get me wrong. But eight matches in a row, with every match taking 15-20 minutes as I try to carefully counteract the crazy that the AI throws out seemingly w/o effort? Sorry, I'd rather be playing my PS4 if I'm gonna invest that much time in something.

Exactly.  This event sucked even when it had a mythic reward for the first 2 weeks for top players.  Now when I see it on the schedule I know I will have plenty of time, as I won't bother joining the fray until 2 minutes before the event ends on the off chance of a new bracket.

Cascading aside, cause I certainly don't complain when it is in my favor, it would be good to see something to go along with mastery or replace it.
I know that I have seen other threads that have mentioned a point system or ranking based on the cards you have.
