So I was pushing last night to around 1125 in the doom PvP and threw down a shield. I was 200pts ahead of second and expect to get my IW.

Fast forward to today. I spied Celerity pushing, trying to overtake me. At this pt, I had an idea. The plan is if he overtook just a little ahead of me. I would attack him in the final minutes. So even if he unshield, he will be hit by me for a loss.

So i skipped thru the nodes and looked for him and kept him in a node. Finally he shielded at 1143, 23 pts ahead of me. At this point I knew I had a good chance because even if he did not unshielded. I will still get the win as he is worth 25-26 pts.

3 minutes before the end. I unshielded, boosted and attacked him. Like something out of the movies, i won the game and saw him at 1119! My plan worked! Indeed, he must have unshielded upon seeing me unshielding for a final push and that's his final nail in the coffin.

Final score me at 1149 and him at 1148. Won by a single pt!

The way it went down is frankly more satisfying than the IW. Nothing feels better than a plot that goes as planned. Good day!
