Bad Timing

I've mentioned many times how much I enjoy the game again at the moment and I appreciate many of the decisions that it got it mostly back on track. But some things drive me absolutely crazy. Among them the fact that the game loves to crash at precisely the wrong moments. I play events for 2-3 days and one of my favorite moments is when they end and I can see where I ended up and what my rewards are. More often than not, at this moment I get an error message, try again and again and eventually end up on the main menu. I don't know what my final rank was (as that is not registered anywhere after the fact) and therefore I can only guess if I etched in to got a rare or know how many crystals and jewels I got exactly (unless I keep a tally how much I had before the end of the event, which I don't).
Obviously, the servers can't deal with ending two events at the same time. But this is not a new problem. Ruining one of the most rewarding moments you get (especially after the long weekend events!) is incredibly frustrating. I know, I got the rewards anyway, but there is a big difference between having something and between clicking three times to actually "receive" it. It unfortunately proves that the game is still at its worst when it comes to the most important part of any game: giving players a feeling of joy or reward for achieving something. Oh, this is even worse when it happens during opening packs, which happens more and more often. I went through the trouble of submitting a ticket for this once and got a new booster 3-4 days later (which incidentally included at least one rare), but I don't want to do that all the time. And if I get a dupe rare, I still want to know.

For what it's worth, you can always see your ranking in your inbox before you hit the events tab to collect the rewards.0

I posted about this last week.
It was a nice feature when they added a game log so you can see what the AI did the prior turn.
My suggestion, after experiencing this very thing, was an events/reward log. These crashes come Reward time are frustrating and harrowing... "did I get my rare?", etc...
Please institute a log that lists all of the rewards we earned, our event ranks, etc...2 -

After the event ends, your ranking appears in the inbox.0

The system messes up, it doesn't show you what you got and it credits crystals and things without showing you. Maybe this error has never happened to you, if so you are lucky but this is definitely a bug that happens.0 -

You're conflating two issues.
When you hit the events tab to collect rewards, it's supposed to show you your rank before dispensing rewards. This sometimes bugs out and you don't get to see anything.
But before hitting that events tab, you can go see your ranking in your inbox tab. The results are also shown there.1 -
Yep, your personal and coalition rank show in your inbox. Check it out next time before moving to the events page.0

Ohboy you just don't know what you're talking about, I absolutely do not get something in my inbox showing what to collect for every event. If you are trying to complete an event right up to the end and it finishes while you are in a node you often get no way to see what your final is. It doesn't show anywhere. This has happened to me multiple times, its a real issue, don't tell me that I'm not seeing what I'm seeing just because it doesn't happen to you. I know how the system is supposed to work and it doesn't work correctly all the time.0

Yeah, if you are already in the events tab (in game or not) and the event ends, something goes wrong, the ranks and prizes are never shown (and often aren't even distributed).
This can be avoided by not being in a game at the time of the event end... but that seems like an awful solution to a silly bug.

When the last refresh happens with the boss at less than 3% it can be hard to avoid that if you don't want to leave charges on the table.2

I was trying to help and I've given the advice. Whether you want to follow it is really out of my hands.
If you have collected your rewards(and not seen it in events tab due to a bug), it obviously dissappears from your inbox.
I've already said the events tab collection is bugged sometimes. You can be hostile to me all you like, or you can change your ritual to look at inbox before going to events tab. Knowing you don't see your rewards because you don't believe me really doesn't lose me much sleep.2 -
I don't understand this discussion. The problem, as many of you pointed out too, is that often there are no results because the game screws it up. When that happens there is nothing to be done about it. You just have your rewards added to your currencies and cards without knowing exactly what they were and where you ranked. That is what annoys me. And when it happens, there is nothing in the inbox. It just isn't, no matter how often you repeat it. Sure, it is a minor bug compared to some other things that go wrong but I find it incredibly annoying.

Check your inbox before you try to collect your rewards.
Rewards only get credited (with or without displaying them+rank) when you access the events tab after they end.
Before you go there, just check inbox. Checking after is of course an exercise in futility.0 -
One last time: I play in an event, it ends, game loads and loads, *poof*, event is gone. No rewards screen, nothing in inbox. No chance of "trying to collect my rewards." When I'm in the events tab while it ends it should show me the ranking, as it usually does. But sometimes it doesn't. Your advice is for when things go according to plan in which case there is no problem that needs a solution or advice.1

Yes you're right.
My advice works only for the slim chance that you can't avoid the events tab at the moment the events end.
I've said as much.0 -
I have to agree with Ohboy, I always go to the inbox to collect rewards, because it seems to be more stable than going to the events block first.0
