Competitive alliance versus one that spends regularly...

So like, I imagine the highest ranking alliances probably spend money on this game fairly often, but I'm wondering if it's better to play in an alliance that has a full roster of experienced players or one with less serious players who spend money on the game regularly, netting you CP in the process.

I've hopped around a little bit, even started an alliance at one point (and have long since abandoned it) and I really liked being in a competitive alliance during the last Civil War event. I joined up because I saw an open spot, and was probably in the top 5 of alliance members contribution to the event, but as soon as it was over I got booted out. (Probably didn't help that it appeared to be a largely french-speaking guild, and I am a dirty anglo...) Before and after, I've been in more "lowbie" alliances with a lot of VIPs, and people who drop big bucks for HP/ISO, so I'd see that "you received 7 cp from a member of your alliance" message on a semi-regular basis.

If you couldn't be involved in both, is there one  you'd prefer to be in more? Is one better than the other?

My alliance is mixed with both. I prefer an active alliance. I don't want to count on CPs from other members or myself. I do spend, but I don't expect it to be returned. I would like us to be a little more competitive, but we do hit t100 for new releases for the most part.

Most alliance is probably a mix of a little of both. Once the alliance gets really competitive, it probably makes more sense for members who spend to actually step out to join buy clubs. Then it's not really choosing one over the other. You get both.

If if you had to choose though, the competitive alliance is probably better. You get covers, ISO, HP and a little cp. Versus simply cp.

I think there is a way to balance both. I know u said u gave up VIP but our allaince only requires 1 CP a month ...we all do it so it helps especially in times when we have new covers and have saved them up. We also always hit the max on new covers and events but during normal stories we offer a low and high progression as sometimes people have alot going on during the week. We also have an excused for times when you go on vacation etc..It allows all of us to start out knowing what our expectations are from each other at the start of a story and pick up the slack where it is needed. You can find a balance, it just takes time and patience. Look us up if u r interested and still looking. We r on Facebook under Angry Deadpool
