What are tech requirements for this game? 3GB RAM not enough?

I'm on Android, having 3GB RAM and running almost no apps in the background (chrome browser, gmail), not even facebook or messenger.
I'm losing a lot of event matches to game client restarts when I swap out of game to do something simple quick.
Has to be RAM I think, because what else? 
If I simply switch out from game to check SMS, then Gmail, then back to game, the game client loads as it was never running, when it does my match is lost, planeswalker loses all hp and node charge is -1. This has ruined plenty of events for me and it happens as often as once per 1-2 days.
Apps clearing memory don't help.
Should I buy 4GB RAM phone just for this game?

    I play on my phone that has only 1GB ram. assuming
    the app that you switch to in multitasking doesn't take
    up more than 2GB ram (many won't) then 3GB ram is
    adequate for both. I think the game has never liked
    players switching out mid game.

    This seriously needs a bump and an official answer.
    Every major game update (new set release) makes the situation significantly worse.

    I have switched to a new 6GB RAM phone (Note8), everything was fine, then Ixalan came, and I started getting some sudden app force restarts after merely switching to a simple app like the stock messaging app or a notepad and back to MTGPQ.

    Now Rivals release made it completely horrible. I'm getting 2-4 restarts per day. Clearing RAM or restarting phone has close to no effect.

    I repeat. I'm now on a different device than when starting the thread, twice the RAM, same problem, just as often if not more now!

    Seems hard to believe 6GB is not enough, it must be an old bug that gets worse and worse (perhaps increasing amount of content makes it worse).
