What happened here?

Ok, I've been hanging out on the forums for a long time now. Its always been a great source of entertainment, information, and good discussion. I don't do Line, Discord, Steam, or anything like that. Just the MPQ forum.

What happened? Specifically, what happened between 4 pm (US central time) Tuesday and 8 am (US central time) Wednesday to the forum?

I am on here enough to see that something happened, but I don't actually know what that something is. My best guess is that a mass exodus of the usual forumites happened in that time frame and no one told me to tag along. 

Wednesday-currently these forums have just been about bone dry for discussion. Enough, in fact, that people are creating completely random stuff just so we have something to talk about. That isn't my intention here. I'm not trying to troll, or be off topic to MPQ, but the forum is part of MPQ and I'm just wondering what's going on and would like to discuss it.

I too have found there to be less posts. I think just because there are no new features coming out that we know of, so there's no much to discuss.

Two things, I'd guess:

1) Lots of really stupid changes recently: vaulting, OML nerf, etc. These always cause some players to get fed up and quit, though not nearly as many as will threaten to do so.

2) Thread moderation apparently now means "find an excuse to move every other thread to some other subforum where no one will see it" so people just don't bother posting anymore.

Fightmstermpq got banned, and I think that the changes just beat people down into not bothering to post... 

Everyone migrated to a few threads complaining about either vaulting or cheating...  Not much else seemed to hold a candle to those two items in terms of user sentiment, and eventually one side just stopped posting.

Really about 75% of the forum traffic the past two months was just watching what FMMPQ and a few others would say to defend vaulting and then watching the back and forth tread well trodden ground.  The other 25% was probably about the cheating, specifically the preview thing, which seems to have lost interest due to no official comments.

The HfH store thread generated a buzz, but everyone was in agreement, so we sorta said our piece and theres nowhere else to go with it....   so now we talk about cereal, chickens, eggs and troll polls.

Yup forum is pretty dead.  Not sure why they are trying to spread it even thinner with all the subforums and thread moving.

It's a number of things:
1.  Lots of bad game updates have demoralized and or caused people to leave the game or be less into it.
2.  Response to these updates has been very poor (which that's not a change but the amount of bad updates make the impact of this worse than ever).
3.  Over moderation of the forums got kicked up to 11 there for a while.  It's slowed some, but significant damage was already done.
4.  It's abundantly clear (and the devs have flat out said it in Discord) that the devs no longer come here and only hear whatever Bribgy chooses to tell them.
5.  Several people have mentioned Discord and I suspect a lot of people have moved there due to any combination of the above 4.

The forum is dying and not slowly.

The most active discussion thread lately was the HfH change. I skimmed it when bored to see what people were saying, but haven't ever bought from HfH so don't really care about the change.

I think a part of what's killing the forum, in addition to things already mentioned, is that it's no longer a good source of information ahead of the change or new thing just being in game.  Our announcement about the new Spiderman stuff was just a link to an article on marvel.com, and nobody gave Brigby any other info so he can't even answer questions like which new character is a 4* or 5*?  

I remember when we'd have power preview threads for every new character, and changes would be announced here days before they happened instead of hours.  The forum used to be a great resource for players.

Just my 2 cents, but when your trying to talk and you know your not being heard or ignored, do we keep trying? I dont, after awhile i give up and go to something else, all the factors mentioned above have turned the forum into something different. I dont even really check for info anymore honestly, its kinda always been a place to see whats up with alot of people or happenings (before they get banned,topics moved or closed, etc...), i preferred the old forum better honestly, it seems like this is trying to be too squeeky clean for some reason, i dunno...

Some of the old resources, still pinned to the top of the character discussion page, are not updated or don't work. That character compendium links are working, but its missing lots of the latest characters. The updated forum is not great, and the search function is terrible. The character pages are not updating with the rebalances, and the polls for best build seem to have been ditched.

I dunno, those are my complaints, nothing really recent that would cause a change, but definitely a downward trend in the forum

I've been unimpressed with the one wiki I see out there too...  too bad we don't have a definitive reference source.

I'm here, but I mostly just read updates made to the game and haven't posted in forever. 

I stopped posting since everything I said kinda sounded like the same ol' complaining that has already been said before.

I used to read so many good ideas and suggestions made by people on this forum, but they all went ignored. It's not very fun to post here when players' feedback seems like it's not important.
