Reduce Max Event Length to 5 days!

It's too grindy right now, it's the same thing, over and over and over, there is no story, no fun, just repetition. If you add LR, Season mode Shield Training, Season PVP, etc, it's just too much stuff to do in general, so no need to make event's that are rehashed like The Hunt, last for 100 Days. Make then 3 day or 5 day top please. (and please don't reply by saying something stupid & obvious like "nobody is forcing you to play!" icon_e_wink.gif

  • For repeat events, yeah, I'd agree. Especially for heroics with no sub events and unlimited rubberbanding. Blah.

    I'm conflicted though when it comes to rehashed events rewarding new characters. When it's a new event with a new character, there's a more epic feeling to it. When it's a rehashed event with a new character there's a "must have new shiny" feel to it (and the rewards from subs makes it more bearable since rewards are coming in every day). But if they start doing rehashed events with rehashed characters? Yeah, give me a week long event at most.
  • The last few PvE events were all way too long. It's fun for a while, but after a whole week of the same thing it's gonna get repetitive and boring, and frankly, not very fun.
  • After 5 days I think I've experienced all that I needed to experience about Alaska, Florida, and Savage.

    5 days max please. This is not fun.

    I have to disagree, all the modes you mentioned are PvP. It's good to have more PvE available for people that prefer that over PvP.

    Also, if the developers' goal is to have some PvE running most of the time, then making them shorter just increases repetition, similar to multiple rounds of Heroic.

    I'm not concerned with PVP, 2 day plus change is fine, I'm concerned with PVE. When an event is 10 days it becomes a marathon. I lead 100 people. I know when people are going to weddings, vacations, getting sick, etc. Most wives don't want their husbands playing for 10 days + scattered PVP's... I understand some people might prefer PVE, but there is no downside to make them 5 or 7 days max length versus 10 days. I actually prefer heroics having 2 rounds because you know what, if I miss one, it's not a huge deal. But if you miss the last 2 days of 10 day Marathon PVE? You might not get a precious Falcon/Lazy X/etc.

    The point is we don't have a shortage of content atm, so no need to artifically extend it. Remember one of the last FF where it would take like 30 hours for the story to begin and it was all grindy walking and fighting? This feels that way. The epic part is the reward IMO, not the facing a lame enemy like Bullseye a millionth time.
  • I agree PVP is short enough and you can protect your invested time with shields and still miss the end of an event while doing fine.

    PVE is a slog, through and through and if you miss the end you feel like you wasted the last 9 days if you can't be there for the 10th

    I've never minded the simulators running long b/c they refresh and it was different (and off-the-wall) combinations of opponents. Heroics are by far the most painful b/c of scaling, length, no subs, static nodes, and unlimited rubberbanding (due to the lack of subs). For heroics, I 100% support limiting their time.

    I have to agree with a lot of the above. Yes, PVE events are important, but this one is just way too long. I'm really sick of playing the same nodes over and over again and having them scale to the point where I'm playing one or two over and over. It's worse than grinding the Prologue to 100%. I'd be all for shorter PVEs as long as there was always one running.
  • Like a lot of people have said, the Hunt tends to be very repetitious - every node is some combination of Dark Avengers and HAMMER guys. And the three subs just repeat over and over. If it weren't for Falcon, I think a lot of people might have taken the event off entirely.

    Yes, but they still feel painful. icon_e_biggrin.gif Though I suppose that was more the unlimited rubberbanding we saw this previous time.
  • Don't forget that this is an old event. The event design has been steadily improving, and there is far less rehashing these days. Unstable ISO-8 was very repetitive; ISO-8 Brotherhood (by contrast) stayed pretty fresh the whole time. And as has been mentioned, the Simulator is super fun due to the variability of featured characters and possible teams.

    That being said, I would be all about limiting the duration of future incarnations of the really old stuff. Unstable ISO-8 could stand to lose a few days, and I think 2.5 days is exactly the right length of time for the Heroic events. I'm honestly kind of dreading this last round of subs in the Hunt: scaling is starting to catch up with me and my games are getting ugly. I'm just hoping the other leaders in my bracket are feeling the same effects.
