Since I missed the hay day of Mana rune acqusition what is the best way to aquire them in 2.0?

    grind training grounds for hours or grind the heroic battles for hours

    Play the PvE event during the week. It grants a great amount of runes for progression rewards, not counting the runes you got for the first wins (which are mostly over 100 runes).
