Would you be okay with rares/mythics being even more elusive if they were always guaranteed to not be a duplicate?

I think I'd be even happy with them showing up 25% of their current rate, if I never got a dupe again.

*Adding:  I guess they would probably need to remove the guaranteed rare from the 300 crystal packs.

Obviously it would be better to get less new mythics/rares instead of more dupes.  Also obviously, this will never happen.  At least that new crafting system they just announced should make the dupes more useful

Ehhhhh. I don't know. For the top players with lots of mythics/rares, this is a buff. For anybody with a smaller collection it's a nerf.

There are 30 rares in Amonkhet, if somehow you manage to get all 30 what would you get then? The problem isn't dupes, it is for many players an inability to do anything useful with the duplicates. Those hardcore players who grinded QB or spent a bunch of money have enough runes to buy all the deck slot and max out all of the new PW's for the next several sets. With mana crystals and jewels you can buy as many packs as you want until you run out of that resource. With runes there is a finite amount you can spend and after that there is zero value. I don't think too many serious players even new ones really care that much about dupe commons or uncommons return value if it is runes or otherwise, but the simplest solution outside of the proposed crafting system would be to give mana crystals or jewels for rares on up.

I'm a free player but dedicated, in a top 10 coalition, and haven't converted dupes for 6 months or so. 211 unique rares (103 dupes) 63 unique Mythics (9 dupes) and 5 unique Masterpieces (1 dupe). Most players should be able to pull 2-4 rares a week from events through some effort so there value is pretty watered down, but since there are no more mythic event rewards dupes have become a lot more painful since they are already pretty hard to get. I don't think the answer is to make mythics even harder to get. I think it's foolish to expect a 1:1 swap of dupes for new cards but at least some value would be nice hopefully this crafting system works.

Making them more elusive makes them the new mythics we were complaining about a few months back. Also depending on how the new crafting system goes, lots of duplicate rares might not be so painful anymore.

Nope.  Makes the upcoming crafting system worse.  I would say this could have been an option if crafting wasn't a thing.

I don't really like my chances of pulling a mythic as it is. I'd hate for those odds to get worse.
