Lightning Axe casting error

Just had a board state with three creatures on my side and no creatures on my opponent's side. Lightning Axe was charged with a gem match on my turn, and then cast without a target and without prompting me to select one.

Agree, I've had that happen several times. Also had it work normally, and haven't 100% put the pattern together of when it works and when it doesn't.
