I see that the progression reward is not touched. And rewards basic booster in platinum. Seriously?

nothing different from last time, with the updated bugs and all.1
-
They seem to be more focused on the dupe system which is something we've been wanting for a long time. This event was probably scheduled to recur without them being able to fix it. I know it sucks to be stuck with an event that everyone complains about but if it means their fixing things that "we" have bugged them about for months, we may just have to be patient. Maybe by v3??0
-
they should have run the new version of RatC instead, but with just a single day timer instead of 3 days, too long0

Wouldn't it have been wise and nice to have one event soon after the release of the new set that awarded one of the exclusives? I still remember that progression prices once in a while included actual cards. Not necessarily good cards, but still.1

agree and disagree. I'd find it nice.. But the first two runs are a bit hard to complete for most of players, next week would be fair IMO. Or maybe they want to wait till the bugs are fixed?

here's hoping the boss health is literally 1/3 of what it was the last time.0

Health has already started trickling down which is a good sign. Which puts into the play the fact that 850 may be barely possible, if not impossible to hit. Time will tell. I have the popcorn ready if the event is, this time, too short1

According to my math, once each coalition member gets 291 points, the event will be over. We've done 530 points of damage is all, and the boss health is down to 91%. I think it was the Avacyn event where not a single person was able to meet progression, and this looks like it will be the same thing.1 -
My last Temmet fight. Turn 1 Seraph of the Suns. Turn 2 buff and Glyph Keeper. Turn 3 buff & Glyph Keeper & Seraph of the Suns. Length of the event isn't what I have a problem with.3
-
OK the coalition in 10th place right now stands at around 2k points.
The event is now at 80%.
Optimistically, that means the top coalition will make about 10k points total by the end of the event, or 1000 points per member.
The progression rewards is maxed out at 850.
I'm going to make a wild guess and say that to make progression this time round, you're going to need to meet a top coalition standard for this event, or come pretty damned close.

Even a top 10 coalition on average won't reach progression.
Let's see what happens.0 -
Ah you're right. My first pass got it right, but somehow when I redid my working I used 10 instead of 20.
My bad. So really no one is getting progression.0 -
As long as I get my free three pack, I'll be happy!!

Effectively the event needs to run 3 full days (including the 72 hour charge) for people to realistically hit progression.
After 64 hours I believe there are 860 points available so basically perfection is required (a standard I oft fall short of). At 72 hours the score potential increases to 940 points which will still be a stretch for most but more achievable (around a 90% clip).
In short, below 3 full days you can probably count progression winners on your fingers. 3 full days is also long enough for most people for an event, with fatigue already kicking in by then.
Progression hasn't been a 90% rate of success in any event before to my knowledge (citation requested for where progression rates normally hit but I don't think it's been close to this high) and 3 day events seems to be the devs goal based on boss hp adjustments, if not a little shorter, which tells me the calibration is a little off.
The possibility occurs however, that they will fine tune length to target 3 days and add a solid reward at 850 (a by proxy top 25 level of reward perhaps) but unless they fix duration precisely, either too many or too few will hit it.
The additional possibility is they simply dislike the players so that they want it to be a 4 day monster that everyone ends up hating even if, like me, you enjoy the actual battles. Extracting miserable experiences from generally fun ones is sadly not an unknown here.

I have 720 points right now since I dropped one match to Temmet.
I have about 1.5 hours left on timer for my next charges. Boss health is 3%, so I probably won't get to those charges, also considering that I'm at work and probably can't start a new match until I'm on my way home on the streetcar (about 3 hours from now).
Granted, I skip most of the secondaries in the 3.x nodes, and I skip the "Win with 10 or less HP" but I get perfect in all the other objectives. So, even with a fairly decent performance, I cannot reach full progression.
Time to swing the boss health back a little bit, or reduce the progression score requirements a bit.
