4* DDQ: Drax vs Thanos

Levelled up my 5/1/3 Batista to lv150, beat Josh Brolin first try with +2 R/Y AP, +2 all AP, +50% crit boosts

Managed to use one Slice and Dice when Thanos was above 90% health, then continued to wear him down. Managed to match away one of his Infinite Power tiles; later on, he laid down both his Infinite Power and Come and Get Me tiles, which i destroyed with The Destroyer. Finally, another Destroyer left Thanos with 5 health, which did it

Strategy: you'll actually want Thanos to collect purple and green, so that he can lay down countdowns for you to destroy and get extra damage, especially from the cascades. And of course, collect all three of your colours. Just make sure you get at least 10 Black before Thanos gets 8 Purple and/or 12 Green, so you can get rid of his countdowns

LT = my third Riri Green in a row to complete her at 5/5/3 without any dupes (I'm not counting her recent blue in a Pve progression)

Rework did a lot to Help Drax here.  3/4/0 @ level 168 crawled through without any boosts on my 1st attempt.  My reward?  Another Riri Blue putting her at 7/2/1... MPQ, why do you hate me?

At lower levels, I'd recommend avoiding letting Thanos get his purple off because that extra damage adds up fast.  His green would pack a whoolip if it ever got off, but between Drax's Black looking for that bonus damage, you matching it yourself, and Thanos matching it away himself; it's hardly worth your time to deny Green.

Tried twice with my 2/3/3 Drax so far. He was LVL 70 and I'm ISO starved. I've got him up to LVL 120 now and still failed with thanos over 5k health. Will keep levelling Drax as I get ISO and hopefully I'll get it done tomorrow and the day after

I had a Lv188 4/2/3 Drax do it on the first try, using +50% R/Y, G/B & B/P boosts.  Really, other than saving his black to eliminate countdowns and hoping for an early red, there's not  much to say on this one.  The token gave me a red Medusa making her 2/2/2.

1/4/2 LVL 152 Drax got it on the third try +60% dmg all, +50% b/g dmg, +50% r/y dmg...it could have gone either way down the stretch but he matched away an Infinite Power tile and I got off a late Slice & Dice for the difference.

LT was a green Danny Rand, bringing him to 3/1/1.

my Big Dave is 4/1/0 and with the nerf I'm definitely not gonna be able to beat Thanos. I could easily beast once, a long time ago, when Big Dave was jacked

Had to level my Drax from 131 (where he beat 4SL) to 150, and wait for a black-heavy board, but got it done in three tries.

4/5/2 level 118 Drax got it done on the 5th try. Just kept saving black to get rid of his countdowns quickly.

I wasn't so sure if my lvl 127 2/0/3 Drax could pull it off, but I beat Thanos on my third attempt (+2 r/y, +2 all, 100% damage bonus).

As everyone else said, collecting black to counter the CDs is the top priority here.

LT gave me my third yellow C&D cover.

managed with lvl 150 0/5/4, harder than most crashes mostly because of the amount of health thanos has

    Leveled up to 168 - 0/4/3
Really, really, tough with no black, but did it on the third shot.
    Used 80% all and R/Y 50% & P/B - 50%

If you have no black, you have to deny green and hopefully get a red off before he gets less than 90% health to do twice as much damage.
Purple did negligible damage without a friendly countdown timer, so had to rely solely on a weak red and match damage.

Found the boards to be very green heavy, so found myself playing defense more than I wanted to.  Won the last round with less that 400 health points left.

Got a billionth Gwen for my troubles.

Level 271 Drax, 3/5/5. Got it first attempt, straight up. Barely took any damage, less than 2k

    Token to the hoard

Are we using the same character?? His rework made him much better, especially in a solo match.....

Third try for my 1/5/2 Drax. The purple strike tile Drax makes, even at five covers, is pretty pitiful with no friendly countdowns. This one was a balancing act, and a few lucky cascades helped me to the prize with less than 1/4th of my health remaining. My reward was a black StinkFist, bringing him up to a mighty 1/0/1.

Second attempt, level 188 Drax, no boosts. Fired twice his black & purple & red, denied purple and matched green CD. Not an easy victory still but satisfying one.

My Drax is 5/5/2 level 144, tried it twice unboosted and got pummeled, then I beat it on my second try using boosts. Red doesn't do much damage at 2 covers (and purple's strikes are weak without a way to generate CDs). Honestly, the main issue was my lack of damage vs. Thanos' big health pool. The winning run was a fairly long match as I just denied purple and saved black to destroy his CDs. Boosting match damage really helped; I did not have much health left when he went down.

I'd all but given up with my 2/3/0 lvl 127 drax, never dropping Thanos below 14k in health.  I gave it one last try with 100% damage to all, +2 ap all, and I figured I'd need a home run to win anyway,  so put 5 critical boosts to use too.  Not sure how it would have played out with a different 3rd boost, but sure enough just as I fell below 1000 hp and with Thanos still over 4k, I managed a match 5 and was able to win the next turn.
    Perma-hoard continues.
