What rank to play events?

So I'm currently level 32 when I get a chance to choose what level to pay an event I can choose rank 27 and lower.. The bracket right under me still offers the 4 start Gamora.. Should I play in my bracket or one lower.  I don't have many 4 stars ar all ( maybe 5 or so, mostly with one cover).   I ask because I don't know if your should always play in the highest bracket you can, or play in a lower one to try and place better??  Suggestions?

It depends. If you're playing primarily for Progression, it's usually worth it to play at the highest SCL possible (SCL8 is the main exception. Very little benefit in Progression over SCL7),

If you're trying for Placement, playing in a lower SCL will mean that your score for Placement will be compared to other people playing in that same SCL, so a lower level may well get you better Placement. But on yet another hand, the Placement rewards for the lower SCLs aren't as good, so you have to see if you can get your placement better by enough of a margin that it makes up for it. For instance, in the Heart of Darkness PvE that just started, a t100 finish in SCL7 will give basically the same rewards as a t50 finish in SCL6, so unless dropping to SCL6 will bump you up from t100 to t20, it's better to play at SCL7. It takes some experimentation to figure out the best balance for you and where your roster is at any given moment.

SCL7 also has one 4* as a progression reward which is a huge difference between 6 and 7.

So this thread made me look into the difference between sl slices . I couldn’t believe how small the difference was between SL7 & SL8. Its crazy. Coming top 100 in SL 8 HOD including progression rewards nets you 400 more iso and 50 more hp………..

Now I may of added stuff up wrong as im slyly trying to work it out at work but even if you double that its just low.

Surely with each jump it should be more significant. I mean there are players in SL8 who are on shield rank 125. What are they going to do with an extra 400 iso? Smoke it? Frame it? Take it down the beach then regret it because the sand is now in your pockets and you can’t get it out?

    Madness.

@Brigby the new reward structure on the events announced yesterday is very welcome. I understand that the hold on SL9 or 10 is mainly duer to the amount of players who are able to go into that rank and to stop dilution. If this is the case, this would suggest that we are some way off the rank being increased. In the interim are they looking at changing the rewards based upon the CL? CL8 is the maximum attainable but it’s no different from SL7 in all honesty. As it stands someone at rank 33 is earning 400 iso less then someone at rank 125.

That’s a basic and extreme example and as I said my maths is probably out a bit but its just crazy.
