Which 4* to keep?

Hi,

I'm a 4* transitioner, with 3 cover maxed 4 stars, and many with multiple covers.  I have 90 roster spots currently.

I just got 4 4* waiting in the queue, but no place to put them.  So the question is, are they worth keeping?  If so, who to get rid of, 3*s or other 4* (like Ghost Rider/Venom/Miles Morales/Gwen Stacey/etc).

The 4* I have in the queue are: Cloak and Dagger, 4* Groot, Mordo, Iron Fist.

Thanks in advance.

    1. Don't open legendary pack until you have hero points to roster another 4 or 5* (granted with the vaulting you soon should have all rostered).
    2. In reality it's advisable to keep everybody (they are essentials in PvE and DDQ). So I would not cut anybody from the vaulted ones (they are rare now). Eventually you will be getting lots of covers for the said 4 as they are the most recent ones. I like Groot the most of them but he is not even in packs. So there is time.
    3. Make sure you don't waste hero points on anything by the slots - it's a key part to successful transition (along with 2* farm and championing of all 3* or at least all not-vaulted ones).

Nobody can tell you who to keep and who to sell. We don't know your current rooster and who your favorite characters are. If you have any maxed 2*, sell them; you'll gain them back later. The new characters are worth keeping because they pop up quite often.

    Thanks for the help.

In general, the 4*'s I mentioned (Venom, Ghost Rider, Miles Morales, etc.) are ones that I never use and keep at lvl 70 even though I have multiple covers for each.

As for HP, I only use them for roster slots...or atleast I used to, until they introduced the Heros for Hire, and have purchased 2 so far (to max covered Peggy).

I guess my question is, are the 4* in the queue any good (Cloak and Dagger, 4* Groot, Mordo, Iron Fist)?  So would it be better to keep them, or one of the other 4* I have in the roster?  Or 3* for that matter.  I have a few 2* champed and 1 1*, that I use for the deadpool daily, and wouldn't want to get rid of them as i do use them nearly every day.

Cloak&Dagger and Rocket&Groot are really fun to play with. Mordo and Iron Fist are kind of boring imo, but I barely have a couple of covers, so I can't tell which is more powerful.

I won't judge your HfH purchases (because Peggy is totally worth it), but at a minimum that's 5000HP that you could have spent on 5 roster slots. So you've created a roster crunch by choice.

That's a good thing - it means you're not just starving for HP and desperately trying to keep up with new releases. Which means that you should be able to catch up on roster slots by just hoarding your tokens/CP pulls for a few weeks, and then you'll be able to roster most/all of the covers you pull.

I'd say you are far better off keeping your current older 4*s rostered and just eating the covers for the new ones. They're all still in tokens and none of them look to be top tier (although C&D may end up being very good). Whereas you'll have a heck of a time re-rostering those old characters, because they're just harder to get now.

Essentially, you'd only be trading a champ level or two on those new 4*s (or risking them not getting *quite* fully covered) in exchange for still being able to make t50 (100HP) on every sub that requires one of those older 4*s (plus Burrito nodes). I'd make that deal every day (and twice on Sunday), and I'm at almost the same place in the game as you (96 roster slots, five 4* champs - roster in sig is mostly up to date).

    Hope that helps!

EDIT - For example - currently, I'm holding onto 2 Groot covers, because I am going to roster Mr. Fantastic instead. If I don't get enough HP for both in time, I'll sell Groot because I'll get lots of Groot covers, but not many chances to roster Mr. Fantastic.

I say keep the vaulted 4* where they are. Nobody knows when a boost will happen or when they will be essentials. You are fine selling any of the 4 new ones if you don't have HP as they will come back soon enough (you get another Mordo in the current PvE and 2 weeks is plenty of time to get the HP to roster him).

Reading your response about 2* i think you need a fresh approach there. The 2* farm is essential in transition to 4* land. It gives lots of hero points, some CP, tokens and 3* covers (to further fuel you with champion rewards). So the advisable strategy is to have all 2* (except bagman if you can't afford him), cover them max, champion them all and then sell when they reach level 144 (preferably roster a new one immediately). You need 10 roster slots for that but it is super worth it (also give you XP when you level a 2* champion).
