Should reprints be updated for standard?

Looking at the card list from the paper Amonket set, I notice that Tormenting Voice was printed, but is absent from the Puzzle Quest release, likely due to its existence from Shadows over Innistrad.

So, should this game automatically update rereleased cards not from Origins with new art and set symbols to allow them to continue to be played in PvP and standard events?

(Note: in paper magic the vast majority of these cards are common rarity cards considered to be staples for their colors)

Great idea!  Probably tougher than it sounds to implement.

Cosmetic change: they should sell it for cash.

I guess if they change it from SOI to Amonkhet, the change would be trivial.  Making it exist in both sets at the same time would likely mean that existing owners have to open a new copy (or they add code... which mean it happens in six months and comes with a brand new bug).

It's not just cosmetic when Tormenting Voice is in Amonkhet but you can't play it since the card is tagged as Shadows over Innistrad.

This is going to repeat since Dispel, Cancel, Essence Scatter, Gravedigger, and Giant Spider are all cards that have been released many, many times. So we're definitely going to see them rotate out of play here never to return unless they update the code for the card to make it playable again.
