I better not get screwed out of my top 5 finish

these servers issues for the last hour of 2 events are ridiculous. this isn't the first time this has happened.

  • Isn't there like 500ISO difference between 5th and 6th? Whatever man...

The people shielding unshielding, making a run or defending their first place, those are the ones who have a right to complain. The ones with covers on the line.
  • ...or what? Is there anything you can really do except vent out your frustration on a forum where D3P devs never react?

Server downtime screws a lot of things. They should implement their big changes during off-peak periods and not during the final hour of events. I only managed a top 100 finish in Savage round 2 compared to a consistent top 10 finish previously. Looking at the bigger picture, people have closed the gap on my top spot in the main event.

Seriously, if there are devs reading this or if IceIx or a mod can help pass on the feedback, would greatly appreciate major changes not be implemented during the final hour of events. Even if these changes have to be implemented at noon or midnight EST, there are plenty of other such timeslots where an event is not about to end.

Feedback passed. Just for general knowledge, the patch update didn't have anything to do with the server hiccup this morning. Just a bad coincidence.

Feedback to your feedback, post things like this in the "News and Announcements" section. I'm sure you know that quite a few regulars play this game very competitively, and that anything that negatively impacts this competition is bound to cause ill feelings. Having appropriate information available goes a long way into defusing such situations.

Ice, you are an excellent representative on this board,.so none of my venting is to you personally:

Do you think it would be appropriate for d3 to publicly acknowledge this event and do some kind of make-good for all the players who put in HP or even just a few hours of their time and ended up seeing their effort in two events become negated because of a server-side crash?

I took the time to email d3. Nothing. No response. This after my last complaint went cold when your representative asked me for the OS I was using on my last crash (you know, the one perma-stamped in my email replies by your software). I have all his requested information and have since heard nothing, even after sending a follow-up inquiry.

It seems a good chunk of players were affected, while at least a few were able to advance over the frozen corpses of those locked out.

I have no complaint about those who were able to keep playing, but d3 has been very lax about giving updates or any kind of after-the-fact explanation. Your own "here's how to register an inquiry" sticky thread has become a monument to people asking when they will be heard. That's like a restaurant letting tons of negative Yelp reviews sit unaddressed.
