Its funny, when I think about building my decks I get this movie clip from the movie The Big Hit that runs through my head.

I will do this, my opponent with do this I then will do this and my opponent will then do this but he cant because I have done this.

Had to remove the link to many TinyKitty's in it

I believe we already have a gap in players new and old. Considering how crystals were priced lower in the past, those of us that have played the game longer actually had better deals that allowed us to get more and potentially better cards. New players have to suffer with less runes, less cards per crystals, higher prices on new pw, higher prices on base pw, sandbagers at lower pw lvls, ect.ect.ect.

Having older cards already from sets not actively available gives older players an advatage for certain events. However the current mentality of playing, let's say vehicle events is " **** it throw in my ultimate maxed out deck, I can't be bothered". It's why I personally avant wait for the change.

Totally different prespectives I get it, But will we all be in the same boat with the new release and with the new card restrictions? Or do the old school payers have an advantage because of the use of the older sets?

Top players still have an advantage due to Origins and Kaladesh mythics, which they generally have in greater quantity than others--but honestly, the power level of SOI/EMN was so off the charts that those simply being gone will probably have a major impact.

I am still trying to figure out where I will be when the new set releases coalition wise.I dont have the time I had before although I am still traveling like a mofo. I am sort of excited about the new possibilities that come with the new set. We will see.

I am enjoying the game and have only spend a few dollars.
I wish they sold more individual cards though.

I'm not entirely sure the queues have been neutered. I know a lot of people haven't been playing as much. The bugs and a lot of recent changes have turned a lot of people off from the game. The completely neutered reward structure and lack of coalition events (thanks to a bug) doesn't give much incentive to play. I know I use the events to test out new decks. The game is in a really precarious position. Hopefully amonkhet is stellar, because things aren't looking good right now

Edit: I also don't think the hostility towards @killwind is really fair. You get what you put in with this game. It's easy to hate on whales, but it's better to learn from them. They're usually super helpful if you just talk to them

People view it as hostility of what I did, I placed emphasis on the more time you play the game the easier it becomes, but apparently some people besides killwind feels the need to continuously point out someone taking an opposite stance and showing evidence of this stance as "being mean". *shakes head* what world is this.........

eh... it's difficult to interpret tone via text. I don't think you should worry too much about it--you were fine. Some people just find it hard to "agree to disagree" and see any contrary view as a personal attack.

@Whammaster it wasn't you. The game generates a lot of feels. It was more just a show of solidarity towards another veteran player. I didn't even read your comment. I scanned the page. Sorry, brother (or sister)

Seeing as how the rewards are so vanilla, I'm cool with half-assing this game for an hour or two a day. I don't play any other games anyway.

The game in its current state is meh. I really am waiting to see what the next patch holds. They need to do something to change the challenge and rewards.

True, tone is hard to interpret through text. I apologize for misreading your post @Whammaster
When reading it in conjecture to the post by Matthew it seemed hostile.

kill wind did you think that it has become this way because they are trying to keep everyone happy? (not that it is possible by any means) i am sorry but i do enjoy the challenge also and it has been lacking because it seems so many want a easy win button i think, forget having to work for it and learn from others and mistakes you make. this may get me banned but it is what i think

Killwind's Baral cycle decks basically just fueled the Baral nerf in the first place.  Irony at its best!

If you're looking for a challenge, remove Deploy, Bacon, Olivia, SA, UH, etc. from your decks.  Give it a shot, the game is actually quite interesting.

I don't play the "best" cards I own in every deck.  I love experimenting.

I go for objectives during events.

Yes, the game is challenging and fun.

I have the collection I have because of Quick Battle not because I have deep pockets. So Yes, I do have over 100 Mythics (still dont have fricking BtB) and yes I have a card pool of over 1000 cards that was not what made the game fun for me. It was playing against other very good players and their very good decks. Now I dont recognize anyone I have played against and none of those decks are very challenging.
It's ok. No one will get to play BtB in the new Standard format @killwind

    Or Journal or moon.

This post is really just the flipside of the same issue which causes people to complain that their decks are being matched up against super duper decks they have no chance of beating. The issue being that the current colour mastery tiers do not sufficiently differentiate players by skill (whether that's deckbuilding or piloting skill).

There will always be those players that are better than everyone else I dont consider myself one of those guys. It has nothing to do with your library or your cards its more to do with attitude and play style. It just is, we are all not equals.
