Worth champing these losers?

After champing wasp last season, I decided to stop pulling until the new season.  Fast forward to today and I have 40 LT pulls.  Having just completed a rather lame pull, I sadly find myself with quite a few Riri and Agent Venom covers.  Is either worth champing?  Or should I just let out a sigh and sell them?

For reference, I have 26 4*s, including most of the top tier.  Prior to vaulting, I had gotten to the point where I was champing low tier characters (falcap, gr, elektra, etc).  Now I just don't know if it's worth 300k+ ISO to get what champ lvls I can before they vault.

Riri is fairly new, so she should be in the token pool for most of the year at least. Agent Venom... he should stick around for two more seasons I Think. The ROI there is a bit more dubious, though I personally enjoy having as many characters as possible champed.

Depends. If you don't plan to hoard CP for a big 5* push then I would champion them (Riri before Venom as she will be in the packs longer so you should get more rewards... however Venom seems stronger). What else can you use it on ;)

Riri has the best single-target nuke in the game.

    She's not a loser.

Agent Venom isn't THAT bad, either.

Champ Riri, she'll be in tokens for a while.

Champ both. Venom really isn't that bad and like others have said, Riri will be here for a long while.

I'm surprised the response here is so overwhelmingly in favor of champing them thus far.  Having just read through Riri and AVenom's character discussion threads, they sounded pretty not great.  The opinion of them seems better here.

I guess I was thinking that spending about 700k ISO (2/3ds of my current savings) on the two of them now, just for the (fairly lame) first 10-20 champ rewards might be a mistake I'd regret later when I cover someone better and find myself lacking ISO.  But perhaps that's just the hoarder in me talking?  I do like having a deep roster and most everyone is at least pretty good on their boost week.

Agent Venom, whilst being pretty average when not boosted, hits for 9k on his black at 5 covers for 5xp when boosted. His yellow hits for 6k aoe whilst also turning the rest of the team invis. He's not the greatest character, but then most 4's have a value in their boosted week

Just about every 4* is valuable when boosted. Adding to the probability that you'll have multiple boosted champs in a given week is a good thing, but original poster has 26 4* champs, so I don't think that's a problem. That said, both Riri and Agent Venom have some unique mechanics that give them their uses.

I think Riri is a good situational character against tile layers (especially against those who lay specials of the same color). The blue round-up power can cause interesting cascades, and the red does reasonable damage and special tile removal all at once. Green is very situational, and the fact that it does damage before sending the target airborne might not be as good as doing the damage when the target lands. Interesting mechanics, and for the 27th champ, that seems reasonable.

AV is even more interesting. Sure, he'll do a small amount of damage to the team, but limited invisibility, hard hitting red and passive damage isn't bad. And, if you have to leave a color open, it impacts both the red and black in a good way. Again, not the best 4*, but he continues the devs recent track record of creating interesting characters to play. Not all characters can be Carol, the re-vamped Wasp or the like.

There's nothing wrong with the old top-tier 4* (you can't argue with just dealing tons of damage), but these guys are more fun to play in my opinion.

Fair enough.  I mostly stick to pve, so it's not like I really need meta-defining characters.  Fun play and variety sounds good.  That being said, neither AVenom or Riri seemed particularly fun as loaners or essentials.  But maybe that was just due to undercoveredness and not the right opponents.

Anyhow, seems like everyone suggests the same thing, so I guess I'll champ both.  AVenom first, since I have a prior cover expiring for him soon.
