Agent Venom vs Nova - Any preference to champ?

I have two Yellow/Black/Red four stars at 13 covers - Agent Venom and Nova.  They're both sitting at 13 covers, and are each below 160.  Is there a general preference as to which one to champ?  I've got a good number of champed 4-stars already, ranging from really good (Iceman, RHulk, Peggy) to not-so-good (Drax, Mr F)  Any thoughts, or more info you wise forum-dwellers need to help clear things up for me?

I have a LVL 300 OML (3/2/1) to tank these colors, so neither of them would take very much damage in PvE or PvP.

The general consensus is that Nova is top tier (or close to it) and AV is mid-bottom tier. I have a champed Nova and he is a beast even when unboosted because of his cheap abilities (6, 7 & 8 AP)

Comes down to would you rather have a low 270 ish nova or a high 280 ish agent venom.

Thanks for the tips. I've been pouring the ISO into Nova...and I just pulled my 14th cover from the Deadpool Event. I've got two weeks to get about 260K ISO for him. (I scored a very large pull of ISO from hitting Shield Rank 91!) Fortunately, 2-star Magneto is one of the 2-stars I have maxed out, with a 2/1/4 waiting in the farm. After the Deadpool vs MPW event, I'll be selling him off the Max Champed one and putting the ISO into Nova. That should help me not lose the cover. I hope. By the time that happens, I may also have Ghost Rider at 13 covers. He's currently sitting as 3/4/5, and Hood is my only favorited 3-star to get me his 13th cover. Since Nova won the first battle, any thoughts about Ghost Rider vs Agent Venom? For two to three weeks down the road, of course...

Go with Agent Venom. Since he is still in tokens, you will get his 14th cover long Before you will get Ghost Rider's thirteenth cover.

I thought the answer is Nova. No contest there. I have Agent Venom fully covered and I have sold like five of his covers because I don't have the slightest will to put any ISO into him. Now my Nova has 12 covers and I am hoarding ISO before I open my hoard to try and champ him.

Nova is the right choice, I agree. Very fun to play.

However, it seems the OP has decided to level Nova already and is wondering if he should focus on Agent Venom or Ghost Rider next. Neither is spectacular (like Nova), but Agent Venom should be a priority since his covers are still in the token pool.

I would champ AV over Ghost Rider. Ghost Rider's best power is his black, which doesn't get better with more levels. AV can actually be pretty strong, you just have to be more choosy about his teammates compared to most other characters.

You are correct.  Nova is who I was leaning towards when asking this in the first place, but I had almost no experience with Agent Venom other than when he was required and I had one or two covers.  The comments in this thread confirmed that view, so Nova's been getting the ISO.  The extra cover from the Deadpool vs MPQ is some extra incentive as well for another hoarded Legendary Token.

Since it sounds like Agent Venom should be champed prior to Ghost Rider, and I'm already at least 1M ISO behind on leveling my 4-stars, I'll take Hood off as my 3-star Favorite and delay getting that 13th Ghost Rider cover for a while.  Nova and Venom will probably take a month and a half to max out both of them, so no need to make things worse than they already are!

Truthfully, I'm in a similar situation with my Nova. I could champ him and apply the extra 14th cover I currently have or I could champ c4ge with a cover on the vine, Spiderwoman with 2 covers, Bl4de, or Spidergwen. 

No shortage of champable 4s, definitely, but like said before it is a question of utility versus covers.

Kinda leaning towards covers right now.

I still say Nova. Championed he is amazing and you will get that LT as a reward. Covers for the others will fall soon enough. And maybe slow down the cover acquisition (not fully hoard but open when you have championing capabilities)?

Since you ended up with the extra cover for Nova then you chose right. Agent Venom is still well worth champing though, he's not top tier but when fully covered at 5/5/3 his black does 4k+ damage for only 5 AP which is pretty great.  I pair him with Thanos to take out the 3rd and sometimes 4th node in PVE's and fly right through them.

Good point, and yeah utility versus covers, but take my case. I'm currently "training" 3strange as my bonus hero 194 so far, if bonus heroes would actually start working again, I could get him to 223 pretty soon. 

So right now, I could champ him get that LT and then that one measly level later on, or I could champ one of those many other characters that currently keep me from pulling cp/LTS and then champ later on once 3strange hits 223.
