Hello everyone!,
Ok so I've been gone for over a year, when i left they had just started introducing 4 star heores.  I managed to get one cover for Nick Fury (and a couple others)  and then Ieft the game for a bit.  I've just recently started to get back into the game but quite a bit has changed.  I figuered looking up a few guides would help but I'm totally lost.  I have no idea where to begin, there are so many different guides, from using your ISO to making teams, to keeping certain characters, to using tokens.  I need help narrowing it down.  So let me begin..

I have 44 slots (all full)  I don't know if I should be keeping all of these characters or if there are some I can sell off.  Also apparently there is a new feature about turning them into champions?  Who should i turn into a champion, if any?  Also I have about 220 thousand ISO, should i just level up everyone or certain characters?  I also have 14 standard tokens 3 elite tokens and 4 taco tokens, should I just go and unlock everything.  I have 1 star venom and spiderman and a few other covers sitting in my prize box waiting for me to do something with them, should I just sell them off or keep them for certain events??

I"m going to list my roster so you can take a look at what I'm working with, any questions please ask, some of these characters I only have a few covers for,  others are fully leveled:

1 Star Character's:
Iron Man
Storm
Black Widow

2 Star Character's:
Black Widow
Thor
Magneto
Human Torch
Bullseye
Ares
Storm
Wolverine
Daken
Steve Rogers (Captain America)
Hawkeye

3 Star Character's:
Punisher
Human Torch
Iron Man
Hulk
Sentry
Deadpool
Daredevil
Storm
Beast
Ragnarok
Psylocke
Captain Marvel
She Hulk
Thor
Black Panther
Doctor Doom
Wolverine
The Hood
Spider-Man
Steve Rogers (Super Soldier)
Sam Wilson (Falcon)
Magneto
Daken
Loki
Black Widow
Colossus

4 Star Character's:
Devil Dinosaur
Nick Fury
Wolverine
Invisible Women

(all of the 4 star's only have 1 cover with the exception of X-Force Wolverine who has 4.)

Any and all help would be very greatly appreciated.

Start at the bottom: 1*. You only need 1 - Juggs. IM35 will work until you get Juggd built. He can solo the 1* ddq, and that is worth 2500 iso/day. Sell the others when you need a slot.

2* - Champ a couple of your favorites. If you have them covered at 94, it will cost you 5k iso per character. From that point on, you can apply additional covers, of them, to them for levels and additional rewards. You may champ them all, it is up to you.

3* - here is where it gets tricky. Fully covered at 166, it costs 7500 to champ. On your next cover, if champed, you can earn a legendary token. This is a minimum 4* token. Don't pull legendaries until you have multiple 3* champions. If you pull a 5*, scaling will ruin your progress. Save your legendaries.

There's so much more going on. Vaulting, boss events, bonus heroes, ect. Get some 3* champs and check back here.

In the current environment, sadly, you are starting back closer to the beginning. Very few older 3*'s are used anymore. None of the older 4* are really used.

Check out the tips section for transitioning tips to 3* as that sounds like where you are and who to focus on. Quick start in 3* on the heavy hitters and who to champ first - iron Man40 (with any red/blue user like cap), Thanos, Dr strange, iron fist (alone and when paired with Scarlett witch and/or like cage), Kamala Khan. Maybe black panther.

    Good luck!

Ok thanks guys, another question is what do I do with the 220 thousand iso?  Also is there anybody in my list that is absolute useless that I can toss out for room?

Keep that 220K and keep adding to it.
    A 4* costs 370K to champ.

There are over 110 characters in the game now.
44 is about 1/3 of what you need.
Ditch all 1*s and roster Juggernaut.

Every other character, plus everyone you are missing, you will need at some point in the game because they will be essentials in PVE.

Just buy enough HP to buy at least 40 roster slots, else you'll be cutting characters multiple times each day.

I'm going to give you slightly different advice, but the essence is the same.

    1. Don't open any tokens just yet. Wait until you have the HP to roster someone new.

    2. Keep your 1*s for now, but be prepared to jettison them if you need a roster slot. Make sure you keep one for Deadpool's Daily Quest. Any will do, but Juggs, Iron Man and Spidey are the most reliable.

    3. Play lightning rounds like it's your job. There's a guide on farming them for ISO that gives great advice. They recently reduced the 2* drop rate, but they do still crop up.

    4. Build up your 2*s. Level them to 94, champ them and keep adding covers for levels. Champing is great.

    5. Check out the boosted lists for the next week and level up your 3*s accordingly.

    6. Don't put ISO into your 4*s.

    7. Check out the character rankings threads to help with questions about who to level first.

    8. Play events at a clearance level that will get you covers that are useful to you. Don't worry about placement, just play for progression covers, ISO and HP.

    9. Don't spend your CP.

    10. Join an alliance, if you haven't already.

Repeating what some have said probably, but for 1 stars, only keep one for the deadpool daily.  I recommend Iron Man or Spiderman personally.

For 2 stars, only keep 3, for the Deadpool Daily also.  Hawkeye and Magneto are a must.  I throw in a tank.  Ares is my favourite.

For 3 stars,  it gets tricky or expensive or both.  I keep them all; not to use them, but for the rewards you get.   Kind of like saving for your retirement.  It's expensive now, but once you have invested, the long term value is great.  From your list, Iron Man is the only must keep.  Best 3 star by a mile in my opinion. I'm also fond of Deadpool at the beginning because his Whales Whales Whales is a guarantee match ender.

Although I would never throw away a 4 star, if you are planning on not buying slots, none of them are even close to the good ones, sadly :(

It all depends on if you want to spend for roster slots or not.  But like someone else said, unfortunately, it's kind of like starting at the beginning.

For whomever, you keep, I suggest bringing them up all together, versus leveling one at a time.  And for your tokens, I suggest holding onto them until the prize you want the most is available.

Honestly, I think granne's advice is spot-on. Assume any token you open will have a new character you want to keep. If you can't afford the roster slot, don't open it. Of course, you essentially have 2 open roster slots with extra 1* characters, so you can open until you fill them. You should just hoard CP, Legendaries and iSO for when you can use them (which will be once you have a reasonable 3* roster with decent champs). With the recent vaulting changes, you shouldn't spend the legendaries and CP EVEN IF YOU CAN AFFORD THE SLOT, since you'll likely get characters that you won't be able to get covers for when you'll actually need them.

People have been talking about jugs. I like Jugs, but since the only thing you need a 1* for is DDQ, and you already have IM40 who is more than capable of clearing that first DDQ node, I don't see why you'd waste the ISO on Jugs.

For 2*, you will eventually need them all (except Bagman) since they will show up in the Burrito and that's a free 2CP every day you have the three characters it requires. So, I wouldn't sell any of them, and I would champ them all once you get the 13 covers. The champ rewards are worthwhile. Once you've done this for awhile you can look into farming, but not while you need your 2* to win matches.

For 3*, you will eventually want all of them as well, but since you're limited in roster space you need to be strategic on which ones you keep. Keep an eye on who is actually available in tokens and who is rewarded from the 2*. Many of the top tier 3* are in tokens, but a few (like Thor) are not, although Thor covers are given as champ rewards for 2* Thor.

For 4*... Honestly, none of your rostered 4* are going to be the ones that will be important when the time comes unless the devs change they way 4* covers are rewarded. IW is good with her rework, but covers will be hard to come by. Fury and Wolverine would need a revamp, and even so would also need a way to get the covers. Devil Dino is entertaining, but his covers are only available once a year. If you happen to draw one of the newer top-tier 4* and want to put it in your roster, then I would sell one of these guys to do so. Don't put ISO into them for now in any event; once you have 3* champs, then you can start adding covers (and levels) to 4* to win the Burrito and Crash, but that's a ways off. As a note, you can win the Burrito with a champed 2*, a nearly champed 3* and a one-cover 4*, so don't be afraid to give it a shot.

HP is for roster spots only. Don't bother spending it for covers, shields, or anything else for a long time. If you spend $$$ on HP, think of it as spending $$$ on roster slots. It's the only purchase in this game that makes sense unless you're willing to spend literally thousands of $$$. There are people on the forums who can help you spend it wisely

If you want to dip your toes into PVP, that's fine, but don't expect much (your initial goal might be the elite token at 200). You'll get more from Lightning rounds. They start every 2 hours and if you jump on them at the very beginning you'll get 6-9 seed teams that you can beat with your roster. That will give you about 1500 ISO, a standard token and maybe a 2* cover every 2 hours for maybe 10 minutes of work. Not a bad tradeoff.

There's lots more; the above assumes you're still a long way from 3* champions, if you have them then some of the above changes.

    Good luck!
