Worth spending CP on vaulted 4* covers?

First, allow me to complain about bad RNG: I just received my second ever bonus 4* cover. The first was IW Blue when she already had 5 Blue (she's 4/5/3). Just now I opened an IW Blue from a standard token and received a bonus IW Blue. 

My question is, should I just save up CP to spend 120 on finishing these characters? The only money I spend on the game is the VIP sub. I have a handful of vaulted 4*s at 11 - 12 covers. Of the 4*s available from LTs, my Wasp has the most covers at 7 (I haven't gotten the two from Prodigal Sun yet); Kate rotated out at 10 covers.

Spending CP on LTs doesn't feel productive, but spending it on covers is extremely inefficient. I'm lost. Any suggestions?

It's late and I just realized the mistake I wrote above: I couldn't have gotten a Blue IW from a standard cover. I got a Mordo and a Gwenpoole, plus two bonus Blue IWs—so my third bonus cover since their implementation. It was from the PVP 10-pack so they all flew open quickly. Sorry about that. My question is still the same.

I would say it's not worth for most on the vaulted 4*. It might be worth it for Iceman, Peggy, Rhulk, Jean - that probably it (sure Punisher, Nova, Star-Lord, Hulkbuster, Cyclops - they are all great but it costs a lot for each cover). 

No sure why you would put IW as you bonus character - that sounds like a big mistake. If you have not selected the 4* favorite than you should do it soon. 

If you don't have any 4* championed yet - focus on the latest 12 (and newer of them  - Captain Marvel, Medusa, Coulson - not Wasp that will rotate out next season). To do that - favorite them and open some classic LT (since you are not aiming at 5* getting the 5CP discount is big). This is probably the best way for you.

Agree with magic. Having said that i can understand why you choose iw. 
She is closer to get champed and if your bonus heroes are coming at a very rare rate you got the feeling you ll never get there.
It would help for better advise if you calculate how many cps you earn per day, whats your placements in pve and pvp etc
Personally i am avoiding favorite heroes that have 5 cover in an ability

I dunno, really.depends on the character and the situation. I have a 5-1-5 X23. Favoring her mass no sense  therefore I pretty much have to rely on a lucky vault, one day a progression reward, or save up spend the cp on her. 

It's not like she is a top tier character, so I'll just wait and maybe one day finish her.

When Peggy rotated out, I had her at 5/5/2, and I just decided this past Friday to save 120 cp to champ her. I do not expect to regret it.

It's your CP at the end of the day, and regardless of any rankings or recommendations on here, only YOU know how you really feel about these characters. If you like a character enough, you have the expendable CP, and most importantly, you know FOR SURE that the cover isn't coming any other way, sure. 

I have several 4 stars at 12 covers: 

C4rol Danvers 3/4/5 - Not vaulted, CM3 at Lv 201 that will give her last yellow at 223 otherwise
Kingpin  5/4/3 - PVP event on 5/12. As long as the progression is anything but black.
Cho 4/5/3 - Last green cover being given from Daredevil PVP
Thing  2/5/5 - Don't see him on the PVP schedule, but my Lv 203 Torch will give his last red at 223
Miles Morales  4/3/5 - PVP event on 5/19, as long as progression isn't red. Spidey will also give last cover if not
War Machine  5/4/3 - Will probably be a while before he's a PVP or PVE reward again. QS can give last cover
Hulkbuster  5/2/5 - PVP event on 5/5, progression HAS to be black. Just got black from IM40 at 223.

This is assuming that I don't buy Hero For Hire packages, but I also have over 1K CP and 22 LTs currently. Even if those PVPs don't give the covers I want, all except Hulkbuster and Thing are at a build where making them a Bonus Hero should be a relatively safe. Those are the only two where I would consider spending CP, and even then I'd rather try to wait out seeing if they pop up on the PVE/PVP event schedule, since I already have other people fully covered and waiting to be champed. It's a lot easier to make Torch a BH and just speed up his progression to 223, since that doesn't involve fighting for placement/grinding for progression. Wouldn't be an option for Hulkbuster, so I'd finally only bend on spending that CP if I get an unusable cover, and there aren't any upcoming events giving him. My main point here is that you should try to exhaust every other possible option before dropping that precious CP. But if you do, don't feel bad. You'll get it back. I already know I'll be using Hulkbuster quite a lot when I finally champ him, so I wouldn't think twice about it if there's no other way in the near future. Also consider this: You can earn 120 CP a LOT faster than the HP needed for a 10-pack or Hero for Hire deal.

Personally I would save my iso and cp for the 12 in tokens. I only spent 120 cp for a cover once and I don't regret it, but it was before vaulting. If you already leveled IW to 250 then I would do it. 2 wasted bonus covers is not that bad. I sold a few covers for vaulted 4*s instead of championing them because the current 12 need iso. The last bunch of tokens I opened were all champ rewards

You say Wasp is highest at 7 covers, so the 6 classics you could get for 120 cp would probably not be wasted.

Thank you all for replying and providing perspective. You've given me a lot to consider. 

Here's what I'm thinking now: 

• I had already decided to save CP for my 5/2/5 Peggy, because that's a no-brainer. It's these mid-tier vaulted 4*s that I'm on the fence about and despairing that my collection is stalled indefinitely. 
• Magic is probably right and I should fav a latest char, which would probably be Carol (1/3/1). My only champed 4*s are Kingpin and Fury, so I would totally use a champed IW; I already do in Shield Sim because a rank-5 blue at level 250 is just bonkers compared to my 3*s. But if I learned anything from completing my 3* collection as mostly F2P, it's that I need to be patient and learn to spend my resources efficiently.  
  
• After I champ Peggy I'll spend CP on classic LTs, although I don't expect to be able to open enough to get any of the characters close enough to merit spending CP on a top-tier or favorite character. 
• Finally, I'll keep stats on how much CP and LTs I earn per week or month; I suspect that a lot of my negativity about vaulting is biased, and looking at actual numbers might help that.

Active play (max progression in Pve, 575 in Pvp and ddq everyday) nets around 100-120 cp per week. Good for 5 -6 pulls from classics. That is to give you perspective
