Joining events late?

For the first time ever I gave Joining late a try. Dr. Doom PvP. Joined at 12 hours and grinded to 936. Less than 8 hours left and I'm shielded at #1 almost 200 points ahead of number 2.

I'm optimistic and If I win I might make this my standard practice.

Did take me almost 4 hours to go from 0-900+ points. A lot of Prologue healing.

I guess the Hunt PvE ending at the same time might have helped as people are probably focused on placing well in that.
