Prized Amalgam + Graf Harvest killing Lightning Runner

If I have Graf Harvest and a single Prized Amalgam out, and the opponent's Lightning Runner attacks, the following happens:
1. Lightning Runner gets blocked by Prized Amalgam, deals its First Strike (out of its Double Strike) damage to Prized Amalgam and hence killing it.
2. Graf Harvest triggers, bringing in a Zombie and resurrecting Prized Amalgam.
3. The game treats this Prized Amalgam as the same copy as the original one, resulting in Prized Amalgam and Lightning Runner both dealing damage to each other in the normal damage step and hence killing both.
4. Graf Harvest then triggers again to spawn another Zombie and resurrecting Prized Amalgam again.

I believe Steps 3 and 4 should not be happening as the resurrected Prized Amalgam should not be able to continue blocking Lightning Runner.

I think it's step 2 triggering during combat that's wrong.
if the combat phase was allowed to finish before graf
harvest is triggered then it should work as predicted
    from reading their descriptions.

The problem isn't either of these things, Lightning Runner shouldn't deal normal combat damage to a creature that blocked it and was killed in first strike damage. Combat for that creature should be resolved disallowing this situation. I've seen this happen with my own Prized Amalgam, and am curious if this happens with other double strike creatures. Haven't had the opportunity to notice it against Solemn Recruit of Champion of Iroas.

I've just had my amalgam/graf harvest work correctly
versus opponent solemn recruit. it could be lightning
runner being buggy. I've noticed that my assembled
alpha dies first in the same combat round and then
opponent lightning runner dies from 1 toughness.
(opponent had 2 servos, combat damage after the
initial first strike should be at the same time)

The whole combat system needs to be rewritten and all cards should be adjusted as necessary to fit within the same system. With my non-existent knowledge of coding it seems to me that they write each creatures code individually or have several different templates for creatures when they should be using the same template for every creature in the game.

I'm probably wrong since I know literally nothing about coding, but hey, its something to think about right?
