Yet another question about scaling, newbie here, please help me....

Greetings to the wonderful community of MPQ. I started playing a couple of months ago and I really enjoy the game so far, but a few weeks ago I fell on a spending spree buying covers and slots and I got a few 5 star covers. They are: Black Panther (Civil War) 1 black cover, Hawkeye (Clint Barton) 1 blue(which I leveled up to 260) and Thanos (The Mad Titan) 1 green, which all I have recruited. Since then my game was seriously messed up due to scaling, I am having a hard time but managable in PVE, but PVP is out of the picture. The big question is should I sell all my 5 stars or could I keep one(or two)? Otherwise my roster consists of some 2 star champions and alot of three and four stars with few covers. You can view my roster here: https://mpq.gamependium.com/rosters/the-cimm3rian/ .

Thanks alot in advance...

    Don't sell 5*s, just don't level them.

Allegedly unleveled 5s don't influence either PVP or PVE.

don't listen to the fraidycats.  Don't ever sell a 5.  Just don't put iso into them. You may be awash in iso now, but the shortage will come, and it will hurt.  Bank iso

Should I sell Hawkeye, since I leveled him up a bit and keep the other two, or will it not make any difference? I do want to play PVP as well, it became impossible now.

Probably not. The thing for PvP is that maybe you have jumped out of the noobies pool to the general one. There is no comming back now, even if you sell them. So it's better to keep them (and no more iso untill you are ready).

If you want to play the long game build your 2 and 3* to champion level and hoard LT and CP till then.

As for PvP - if you our out of the happy day noob pool just set your goals realistically and treat this feature as an extra. In reality the Story mode is also PvP (with placement rewards) so you can show your competitive nature there.

i have 3 5's i leveled up to 270 way back and i didn't notice any real changes until i had a lot of 3 Star Champs and then again when i champed x-23 and Spider Woman

so this scaling thing could just be coincidence

Thanks a lot for your replies guys and gals. Looks like 5 stars are hard to get and I should keep them, so I should just try readjusting to the higher difficulty.. Thing with PVP is that i used to get rank 20-100 and now I'm 250+ or more.

For the first few PVPs you get put into newbie brackets, that is where your t20 happened.
After that you have to play with regular, veteran players.

It's normal that you are not getting higher PVP ranks now, and will not for a long long time.
Just keep playing to improve your roster.

Until you have at least 3 3*s championed having 3 5*s will absolutely effect your scaling in a noticeable way.  If you sell or not depends on two things:
    1.  How long do you think it will be until you can get to 3 3* champs?
    2.  Are you ok struggling with current scaling for that amount of time?

If the answer to 2 is no, then absolutely sell. I sold a few when I first started playing, I've been playing for over a year now and I'm still no where close to using 5*s in a meaningful way.  I'm glad I sold, they were boulders slowing my early progress.  By the time you get to a point where you need to use 5*s they could have drastically changed how you get them by then.  Play for what effects your roster now, not what might in over a year....

also, stop opening legendary tokens or spending CP on classics. Your roster clearly is not ready for 4's or 5's, so you should be stockpiling those tokens and CP. When you are ready to jump to the 4* tier, having a stockpile is huge.

This is a good point.  With the current meta, you will just end up diluting your 4 star tier.  At your level, you won't earn enough covers for each 4 to be usable before they are vaulted.  You should wait until you are ready for 4s with CP and ISO and open all at once. Having a 5 cover spiderwoman won't help you too much.

Even with the previous meta it's good advice.  Until you're to a point where you are championing 3*s 4* and 5*s are a burdon and HP drain.  When you're that early I wouldn't open any LT or spend any CP.  I would roster placement/progression covers (if you're high enough SCL to get them at that point, which probably not) for the essentials, but beyond that I'd avoid.  You can then pull like crazy when you're to a point that it's time to change that focus.
