Best variant teams?

I know we all LOVE variants (*turns sarcasm font off*), but if there was an event where you had to create a team using only one character and his/her variants, who would be the best 2 and 3 character teams?

    3* and 4* Sam Wilson might work really well as a team: two abilities that spam a lot of shields for Falcap's red nuke, buffing tiles when matching yellow and blue, plus on blue matches you also speed up Redwing's CD tile. Really, it's a shame you can't pair them together.

    IM40 and Hulkbuster for over-the-top red AP generation. Throw in IM46 for huuuge match damage, why not.

    2 3 and 5* Hawkeye would be pretty good. Match 5 and get a bunch of countdowns for 5* to generate ap to fire off his red and blue. I still don't have him so I'm not sure.

    3 and 4 Blade would put out twice the strikes, then 3* purple attacks would be insane.
