Used my first shield tonight

It was actually surprisingly exhilarating. Got myself up to position 7 in my bracket. The matchups that I was seeing were starting to get pretty damn hard, which presumably means the same level of people are starting to see me in their matchups and I would be an easy kill. Now I'm obsessively checking my phone to see if anyone has passed me in points and knocked me out of top 10. It's hard to imagine what it would take to get a first place finish.

I've already seen about 100 points that I would have lost if I wasn't shielded. Seems that it was worth it.

  • Welcome to the fun and exhilaration of chasing down the 1st place. (:

And if you aren't planning to break shields any more, wait until just before the tourney ends to check it and see it altogether. It feels better that way cause you see a whole buncha fights.
  • Dropped to 11 in the last 3 minutes. Bummer.
  • I've been there before and it can be fun, that will my shield last, will my position last. It's nail biting.

Just don't turn into the guy that shields at 284 points with 2 days left in the event.
  • Shielding is very much an end game strategy that requires nerves of steel, ice in the blood and patience.

I lack all of the above so I just raise shields at T-3h and pray.

    Hey there, bracketmate. I was #10. icon_e_smile.gif

But I didn't knock you out, I was shielded from a while back, slowly falling as well.

Yeah unfortunately we can't all be Jozier. Don't know how he goes so long without shielding. Here at S.H.I.E.L.D we even offer free shield training to all of our agents but he just refuses. Says shields are for small kittens or something. Wish I had those kinds of nerves.
