Poll: What character is the most fun to play? (RESTART)

The previous poll What character is the most fun to play? was missing some popular choices like Ares. Also, IceIX has increased the poll limit to 15 items. So I'm restarting the poll. Booted off the island -- Spiderman! Though widely seen as the most powerful character, the High Cleric of MPQ doesn't rank high as a fun-to-play character, just like clerics in all games.

Many characters make a team stronger. See the Character Rankings to see the characters that are considered strongest. However, just because Black Panther has an awesome claw attack, that doesn't necessarily make him fun to play in Heroic mode.

What makes the characters fun? Some possibilities.
1. Board control -- adjusting, placing, removing tiles (Magneto, Cap, Hood, BWGS)
2. Power control -- stealing or limiting ISO, stunning. (Hood, Cap, Storm, BWO, Spiderman)
3. Combat control -- Attack tiles, strike tiles (Wolverine, Black Panther, Punisher, Psylocke, Loki)
4. Health control -- Lots of health, healing, regeneration, protect tiles. (Wolverine, BP, Hulk, Cap, Thor)
5. Color control -- AP generation. (Magneto, Storm, Hood, BWGS, Cap, IW)
6. Time control -- Adjust or steal counters (Hood, BWO, Moonstone)
7. Damage control -- Do massive harm (BP, BWGS, Magneto, Thor, Cap, HT, Wolverine, Hulk, Punisher)
8. Speed -- Move faster (Magneto, Spiderman, Punisher, Psylocke, Ares)
9. Cool animations and sounds. (Ares)

Myself, I like controlling the board, which puts Cap, Magneto, and Hood at the top of my Fun list. What are your thoughts?

I like the characters that have unique but fun powers that make them stand out. I have fun bouncing shields with Cap, and I enjoy how Psylocke just keeps attacking.

He's not on the list, But I enjoy playing with Spiderman (Bagman version). Between his swapping power and his tile freezing power, he can be a huge help.

being forced to use him gave me a new appreciation of his pve abilities to help ward off tommy guns and such.

My favorite characters to play are those with low-cost AP board control. So, C.Mag and lazyCap.

I also enjoy Punisher. Firing off green, spamming black, and finishing with red just feels like all three of his skills flow together.

I also have a 3/5/5 Spiderman, widely regarded as the best character in the game. And I am absolutely sick and tired of playing him. Honestly he feels like such a crutch character that I am looking forward to his Funbalance.

The groupings are a little weird because some of the characters play so differently between version. Black Widow's the most obvious - one has a stun and AP stealing, the other is a much better AP thief with a heal, and the last one does tile placement and aoe damage.

I got the first DD vote! I know his ambushes can be frustrating when they don't go off or are destroyed but that just makes it all the more hilarious when an unsuspecting enemy matches red and BOOM NINJA DEATH KICK.

For all the "cap sucks" I've always greatly enjoyed playing with him when he was buffed. Big fan of 3* variation

Yeah I was pleasantly surprised while pondering this poll, ended up going with Mags, Punpun, Steve Rogers, Psylocke and IM40.

I have a feeling that if I had more experience with Daredevil he would have beaten out Psylocke.

A couple months ago I would've said mStorm, I just get a kick out of smashing all those tiles and the crits and all that, but now I'm kind of tired of her and the looooonnng animation. So I picked Daredevil, the crotch kick with the element of surprise counts for a lot even though the tiles getting overwritten by Daken makes him weaksauce.

You left off Loki. Sure, he needs a third ability and he's not powerful, but setting off Illusions is one of the most fun moments of the game. What's going to happen? What are you going to get? You don't know! Could be nothing, could be everything!

Oddly I find Spidey fun to play. Balancing getting stun/heals with getting attack colors and denying enemy colors is great, especially with my inability to get boards with yellow...

Ares
I love that all his powers require that little bit more thought than charge & click.
He interacts very well with a range of opposing gimmicks also e.g. hoard green Hulk & Ares, timing red right for Storm, waiting for Yelena/Moonstone to use their tile powers before yellow.

Black Widow - Original
Tends to bend play-style and team composition around her, and who doesn't like denying enemy powers once their charged with a well-timed steal?

Magneto - Marvel Now! & Black Widow - Grey Suit
I really like powers where you get to lay multiple tiles for maximum effect - especially satisfying when take an extra turn to clear some environment tiles out the way and/or manage a 2 Critical tile layout.

Not terribly complex, but it's always fun when a plan comes together and one move successfully charges the next - which successfully challenges the next...

MN Magneto all the way. Leveling his blue skill to 5 is so far my best investment in this game, purely for the sake of fun and pleasure. The board shattering gives me chills.
Other than him, it's probably mStorm+MBW combination, giving me an infinite turn.

Moonstone can be a load of fun too when you get enough black AP together to steal a countdown timer - my Flamethrower now!

c.magneto used to be my favourite.

5 blue to control the board, 5 purple to deal insane amounts of damage.

but i voted for steve rogers. that 5 red deals really high damage and then you need to protect the countdown tile to use the skill again. so it makes the game a bit more interesting.

during the recent first avenger event, had a lot of success with these two and spiderman. board control, regenerating damage dealer and stunlock.

Based on this poll, two characters suggest themselves.

1 -- a 3* Storm of some kind. She should have the environment-clearing skill of mStorm, which is very helpful for both Hood and Black Panther.
2 -- a 1* Magneto of some kind.
