Nirvana Alliance - (19/20)

Our goal is to be a top 100 PVP alliance. We expect members to contribute 600+ points per PVP and 1000+ points for the Season's Shield Simulator.

Why Nirvana vs other alliances?
- We're a fun, team oriented alliance interested in 3* covers from PVP alliance rewards.
- We have no PVE expectation. PVE is a huge time suck and requires extensive grinding for top 100 placement. We all have busy real lives.
- We have no requirement for email addresses or Line chat. We respect each other's privacy and can communicate well through in-game chat.
- We don't cut members for missing the 600 PVP expectation just once. Other more aggressive top 100 alliance will cut you for a SINGLE miss of the team's goals. This pressure to never miss team goals can make the game a lot less fun.

For new recruits I would like to see almost maxed 2s and some 3s that have a few or more covers.

Equally important to me is being active. The team bonus for everyone being active is worth +160 more iso daily vs only 9 of us being active; that adds up.

I agree about new recruits (looking on other thread right now to see who may want to join us). In my opinion, a player's activity far outweighs the depth of their roster. That being said, the newer characters for PVE nodes.

I used to never compete for BP, Psylocke, HT until I started seeing them as PVE requirements. Now every new character I pull from a token I keep!

Hey all,

Most of us in this alliance are 2* transitioning to 3*. I'm on the verge of finally having a 3* character exceed level 85. (Captain America)

My question for those of you who have already passed the level 85 point, what's the quickest way to use your HP to do this? Are you spending 1250 HP on ability upgrades? Are you spending 300-100 HP on 2* recruit tokens and hoping for 3* characters? Or are you spending the ~3000 HP on the 10-packs?

Currently, I'm maximizing my score in PvP events and shielding up to win 3* covers, but it feels like a slooooow crawl to get to 3* status. I'm wondering what would be the best way to invest my future HP.

Hi Dune,

I am nowhere near getting a 3* character above 85 level. However, I can give you my two cents on how to spend the HP, assuming you are F2P and can not just purchase HP freely.

With the amount of 3* characters ballooning over the past two months (19 and counting) the pool from which you draw these character covers is getting bigger and bigger. A typical 10-pack gives you between 1-5% chance at drawing a 3* cover. A 3% chance of drawing a cover over ten pulls still only mathematically gives you a 30% chance of pulling ONE 3* cover, and probably not even for the character you need.

Therefore, if you are adamant on getting more covers for your 3* characters and can not wait for the tourneys to award them, I think your best bet is to purchase the individual covers at 1250 a pop. It is a steep price but also a way for the developers to keep players from fully covering 3* characters and maxing them out too soon. Spend your HP however you would like but I know I would sit tight and wait for the covers to come around during tournaments. Classic Magneto, Hulk, and Punisher are all recent rewards for PVP tournaments and a top-10 finish will net you two covers. Eventually, our alliance should hit 20 members and allow us to compete for those third covers as well

If you're looking to put HP into a specific cover to help finish off a specific L85+ 3* (which should have at least 9 covers already), your absolute best bet is to directly buy the cover. Heroic tokens have pretty depressing drop rates for any 3* cover, let alone 1 of 2-3 specific 3* covers. 10 covers bumps your level cap up to L102, which makes that 3* a viable upgrade to a maxed 2*. Shieldbro is a solid all-around character. His red is, by far, his best power.

I'm F2P, and have never bought a cover, but am seriously considering a fifth black in BP get me up to 3/4/5. If it was my 13th cover, I'd buy it immediately, but since it won't get me to L141, it's giving me great, multi-day pause.

I got lucky pulls with hulk and won some covers in events.
He is almost maxed to where I can level him. (115)
It did drain me from over 60000 ISO to nothing before I could level him all the way.
My advice is to save ISO, we will need it.

On Cap definately max his Red.
My cap is only level 69 and does 1868 dmg. hoping a yellow or blue fall in my lap so I can level him too.

Anyone have ideas on the best time to join an event as to get in an easier bracket of players?

As late as possible apparently. As you may have noticed in the in-game chat, Tagstar and I got the same score in the Dr Doom event, yet he came in 8th is his bracket while I got 24th. He said joining late paid off.

I didn't realize how low the odds were on drawing a 3* character through 2* recruit tokens. Very helpful to know. Basically it does seem like spending HP on specific abilities is the best way to go. And that basically means it's going to take some serious time to get to 3* status.

I agree. I ended up accumulating 3* covers the slow way, and as soon as I got lucky with a couple of them via standard tokens or events (for me it happened to be Spiderman and Hulk), I spent hp on their best covers to get them above lvl 85. My plan going forward is to identify a few 3* characters that are very good, and do the same thing, so I will try to place as high as possible in the PvP events for those covers, and save my hp to level them up past 85 like I did with Spiderman and Hulk.

Hopefully we can grow our alliance to 20. Once we do that, we will be in play for alliance reward covers as well.

When I started playing this game, I spend hp on tokens, which was great for filling out the 2* roster, but not the 3* roster.

Not excited about the current Punisher event. I do not have a Loki nor do I see any value in him even when he is leveled really high. For those that do have a decent level Loki, what synergy does he have with other characters? Other than a cheap way to shake up the board (which has its uses) I do not see him as either an offensive or defensive weapon. The good news is that I am in need of a green Thor cover and it will be incredibly easy to finish top 100.

Also, since I do not have Falcon the current PVE is rather useless. I can run through the normal nodes for some free ISO but its not like I'll be making a push to place high or anything. The next few days will be pretty chill, I'll probably end up playing unfinished Prologue missions

Hey Tagstar,

I don't have an upgraded Loki, but I think his purple power is really good. It's cheap (5 purple) and all of the tile swaps usually lead to other matches. So if you have added purple boosts, you could make a single purple match, activate his power, and start making other matches quickly. I hate playing against Loki for that reason. If there's no modern storm or black widow, he's the first guy I attack.

For both Tagstar and others in the group, do you know what the odds are of getting a 3* cover from a 1* recruit token vs a 2* recruit token. The reason I ask is that I'll likely end the PVE event between 25th-100th place. Rank 50 and below and you get a 2* token. Rank 50 to 100 and you get three 1* recruit tokens. If there's a higher probability of a 3* cover from three 1* recruit tokens, I may tank it to stay over rank 50. I largely ask because I've gotten a few lucky 3* covers from 1* tokens and I have no idea how often that happens. Thanks!

For a standard token , odds appear to be:
1* 83%
2* 13%
3* 2.5%
4* 0.03%

For Heroic Token, odds appear to be:
2* 82%
3* 15%
4* 2.6%

If you are looking to grab some 3* covers, the Heroic tokens are the way to go. 15% is approximately a 1/6 chance so go for it and hopefully you'll be rewarded! Worst case scenario you get some 2* cover you don't need and can sell for 250 ISO.

Well, he could be useful when teamed up with patch wolverine, but other than that, dunno.

So my MMR is a little crazy and I have been seeing numerous defeats to high level (100+) 3* teams. I never challenge these teams but I must be popping up in their queue, this craziness is what knocked me out of the top 50 in the Doom event. Since I do not win or even place top-10 in tournaments my best guess is that the Ares/OBW combo that has proved so effective is almost too effective. Since my team rarely exits the match with any damage, my MMR skyrockets. What makes matters worse is I have been tanking these LR's (getting above 100 points then throwing in lvl 15 Psylocke/HT) and it does not seem to be lowering my MMR at all. They might have fixed tanking.

To be clear, I do not mind facing other max level 2* teams since that is what I typically roll with, but I do not like being pummeled by 130 lvl Punisher/Spidey/CMag...I mean that's like me beating up on lvl 10 Hawkeye/Venoms lol

Thoughts from anyone else?
