Why only a one-time deal for dupe Elite packs?

Why can't it be until you get a non-dupe? It means little to you, but it would mean a lot for the players and would be a great step towards restoring our faith in you.

You understand that if players knew that their mana jewels were not wasted that they would be more inclined to spend or spend again, right?

With this one-time deal, after it'll be used by everyone, the situation will remain absolutely the same, you'll see complains left and right about dupes. 400 mana jewels is too much investment to get nothing in return.

Please make a real improvement.

would that not lead to pay to win?
just buy 8x400 jewels and you are guaranteed that
super powerful masterpiece, less if you already have
    any cards in the roster.

@hawkyh1 You make it sound easy to get 3 200 jewels hehe Let's say that you get every mana jewels available from all the events and special offer, it would still have taken you like 4 months? How much did it have cost you, too? Also, it's not too much of a problem, if other players can also get their cool Masterpieces. People would all be happier.

I can tell you how deeply disappointing it is to finally save up those 400 unobtainiums, get a mythic dupe, get it exchanged for another elite pack... only to get another mythic dupe. With that kind of grind to actually TRY to get the elite pack and get screwed twice in a row, there's no way I'll EVER put in time or especially money for an elite pack. It's a terribly broken system.

I'm not saying that there should be dupes.
I didn't say it was easy to grind for jewels. just that
being able to pay for a collection of masterpieces
would encourage pay to win. there should be a
middle ground where you can get something
worthwhile consistently but not guaranteed best.
maybe a system where you can chance for a
masterpiece if you get a dupe you can get swap it
for 380 jewels. you get limited tries. this way you
are only risking 20 jewels each time. also there is
no guarantee of obtaining all the desired
    masterpieces immediately.

There perhaps shouldn't be the ability to make it a guaranteed masterpiece in the event your account has all the mythic cards, however, duplicate mythics should be something considered for these packs. Bought my first one this round and thought I'd do okay considering the only mythic of the bunch I owned was from purchasing Aetherwind Basker. Alas, no.... that was the mythic I pulled.

Related note: I've said before and still believe that mythics you paid for should be removed from your account's algorithm for determining card pulls. It feels like a real kick in the balls to pay for Emrakul then to pull her three times in packs afterwards.

Edit: realized that Aetherwind Basker was never for sale for real money, I was confusing it with Bristling Hydra. Calmed my ire slightly, but I do still stand by the idea that purchased mythics should be removed from your account as possible pulls from packs. Something like an emergency stop that sees you're getting a mythic rare card, checks your purchase history, and if you bought it, changes the card to another mythic rare.

Great topic we should activate again to make Elite Pack great for once.

Getting Duplicates in an Elite Pack is a huge disincentive. Why not make it a non-duplicate offer. Let the collectors buy for 3.200 jewels

Give whales and medium spenders an incentive to buy jewels by providing the certainty and ease of use. Right now it is just a pain, while it could be just an awesome user experience.

If somebody wants to spend the money for 3200 jewels so they can get every Mythic/Masterpiece available at a given time... well, let them.

What's that going to run them? Several hundred dollars at the very least. If I dropped that kind of coin on physical, paper cards I would get some very, very good cards, and exactly the cards I wanted.

The biggest problem that I see with D3's business model is that there is very little perceived value for spending real money on "cards". Unless they are offering up "Exclusive" Mythic cards, you have no guarantee to get what you want, and could end up getting nothing at all for your investment.

Micro, targeted transactions are what this game needs. Individual mythics for $7-10. Individual rares for $2-4. Sign me up.

You made the cards... great... now let us play with the darn things.

    @wereotter
I have noticed within my coalitions discord chat it seems that people that have gotten certain rares or mythics have seemed to pull duplicates of them.
I haven't purchased any cards, but I still seem to get duplicates of the ones that I do have.  Like your Emrakul story, there are folks that have purchased Olivia and then get multiple duplicates of her.
Doesn't seem to make sense....almost like certain accounts are predestined towards certain cards.

    @wickedwitch74: exactly on the point!!
lets give p2w players a real incentive to buy the whole elite Pack out for 3.200 jewels. While a f2p or medium spender might need some more time. And best of all buying an Elite pack becomes a great user experience. Instead right now every player has to go through an arduous and painful process of getting something for their hard earned or hard paid jewels. Where is the fun?

@theyrejustelve and @wereotter: getting a duplicate of your paid card is just humiliating, right? why should you ever want to spend cash on such a system?

What I don't understand is this... When you've already bought a Planeswalker, it no longer shows up as an option to buy in the vault under the PW tab.

Why can't they just do that with the cards available in the Masterpiece set? You already own it? Fine, let's remove it from the bloody list.

Save us the grief and anxiety of potentially getting a dupe.

And save yourselves the grief of having to perform customer service for all these dissatisfied customers looking for a re-pull.

How about a poll to see if there is any interest in the community and what direction they would like to see here?
    My first option would be:
    1. Please remove the possibility of a duplicate when an Elite pack is purchased. Let's make buying an elite pack an awesome player experience

They will likely make no changes prior to booster crafting.

Ironically enough, had they made the Elite Pack a guaranteed new card, they wouldn't have even needed to make a booster crafting system.

They will likely make no changes regardless.
