Warning: Your phone sucks and you are a big loser

Gotta say I feel insulted by this new warning... icon_e_sad.gif

I know by the standards of the tech world, my iphone 4 might as well be a wooden sundial attached to two tin cans on a string. But I've been playing this game for 6 months on it just fine. (Well, except for the 10 days it was broken entirely!) So can we drop the warning? Who's with me?! icon_e_biggrin.gif

  • But unlike our smartphones, a sundial still works in direct sunlight icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif
  • This game doesn't even seem like it's all that graphically-intensive anyway. We aren't taking about GT Racing 2 or something.

I know, and yet it sucks down battery power like nobody's business - and being online-only doesn't help.
  • I just moved up to a used iphone 5 from the 4 and the speed and gameplay is so much better. I thought that the 4 was fine until playing on a 5, if you have an opportunity take it. It's like that bad relationship that went on far too long and after it's over you look back going, why in the hell didn't I do that sooner?
  • I got the new galaxy s5 a week ago. Before I was playing exclusively on my tablet. My galaxy s5 phone feels like it is on crack. The game feels like it is in fast forward compared to my tablet. I go back and forth between the two just because the tablet has a bigger screen even though the resolution isn't as good as the phone.

Unless you're being intimate with your cell phone in a very naughty way, this isn't the best analogy. Or does your cell phone do yoga as well?

Shhhh... Well it does get me all excited. I'm like Jojo the idiot circus boy with a pretty new pet. Now the pet is my shiny iPhone5. Hello there pretty little pet, I love you. And then I stoke it, and I pet it, and I massage it. Hehe I love it, I love my little naughty pet. You're naughty! And then I take my naughty pet and I go... well, you get the point.
  • You should have seen the disappointed look I gave my iPhone 4 when I learned it was sub-optimal low tech.
  • My iphone got so sad it refused to play the game for 10 days. Oh wait.... that was a bug icon_eek.gif You know, I still get sad every time there is a required Thor mission. Perma-screw!!! I cry.
  • My iPad sucks - first gen - but if the operating system is up to date then can I play MPQ on it after 52? Otherwise I am in trouble because my phone sucks too.
  • I tried on an iPad 1. Like, the original. And it was so slow as to not work at all. The iPhone 4 is a little slow (worse after maybe patch 50, can't remember which exactly), but it still is fine. Unless you would be trying to burn through a lightning round, which I never try to compete in anyway.

Is it sad that after all these years, MPQ is what would prompt me to upgrade? icon_redface.gif

Lol. I will upgrade if you do?!

I cringe every time i see someone pay the insane apple tax.
Save yourself some heart ache in your wallet and get an Android.
Hell with the money you save you could even take your S.O. out for a nice dinner date or movie or somthin. icon_e_surprised.gificon_eek.gif
...err that's assuming that MPQ hasnt sucked your soul dry or something akin to it yet icon_lol.gif
  • Well, I have a Samsung Ativ S (Yes, I know, I know.. I hear you cry "**** is THAT???"), which runs Windows Phone 8, so I'm not holding my breath about getting MPQ on the go there.

I also have a Kindle Fire HD... and no luck there either. **sighs**

    Oh well, back to Steam...

Actually you can get it on a Kindle Fire HD you just need to install the google play store and here's how.

    I hope that helps!

My S.O knows their place - right next to me while I play MPQ and forget they are there.

I am looking to get a tablet - not a phone. And at this point I am so invested in apps and such from iTunes that I doubt I will ever switch. They got me while I was young and naive and now I will never escape the tyrany of the apple tax! Lol

That is very useful info. Thanks for sharing - I didn't know that!

Lol yeah I totally understand how plenty of people are deeply entrenched into the Apple ecosystem and it would be very painful for them to leave it.

    However with that said.

XDA-developers is a great site for pretty much anything Android.

And if anyone is looking into trying to get a cheap tablet so they can keep playing Newegg has both refurbished Nexus 7's and Sero 7 PROs at very reasonable prices.
Just looked it up you can get a N7 (1st gen 32gb ) for 109 after rebate and the Sero 7 PRO for 100 no rebated needed.
The Sero 7 PRO is basically a 1st Gen Nexus 7 knock off with extra functionality made by Hisense for Walmart. ( you can get em new for 150+tax)
  • I've had no issues on my iphone 4 running IOS 5.x. The game runs just as smoothly as on my iPad 2. Maybe the newer IOS sucks a lot more power?

I'm dreading making the upgrade to IOS 7.x, I've been stubborn because I enjoy the original Google maps and native You Tube.

Congratulations Demiurge, this stupid addictive game is going to make me make the jump before R52 icon_razz.gif

I was hoping to hold out before the iphone 6 comes out, but oh well.
  • My iphone 5 broke and it will be a long time til i get a new one, but the past month i have been using an iphone 3gs and its updated to 6.1.6 which is as far as it can go. Will it stay play? It better or they will be pissing off alot of customers.

This is why I am confused too. Will the game still play but be slow and clunky with low res graphics? Or is the game no longer going to load on my iPad (1st gen). Clarification is needed. I might need to order a refurbished tablet from newegg!
