Would you run in fear from a 435 OML / 435 Cap?

No, but I run with a champion OML and Phoenix myself, so any fivestars below 450 is just a giant target.
All other things being equal, I would probably fight an OML/Cap team Before an OML/Phoenix team though. OML/Cap is a bit easier to deal with as I can just KO Cap first (and whoever the third Wheel is) first and then whittle down OML once his healing factor is ****. I haven't fought Cap much, but I can't recall him ever screwing up the game for me - I can definitely remember Phoenix screwing things up for me though.0 -
Thanks for the feedback. Yeah the OML/PHX combo is special, since both are difficult to defeat with the other still alive, whereas you're right, once you take out C5p, then you just take out OML, there's no particular issues to facing that team. I'll need to wait until I have my Cap championed and leveled up a bit beyond that.0

Okay... now my characters are:
Lv 435 OML
Lv 435 Phx
Potentially Lv 450 Cap
Do you still think my best 5* combo is OML/Phx? Or would you recommend I try OML/Cap or Phx/Cap?
My Cap is currently at lv 350, but if you think he makes a better teammate than OML/Phx, I might try championing him now. Otherwise I'll wait to receive his 14th cover and then champion him to lv 451.0 -
Just run your high level boosted 4s.
Cap is fun to play and may even have some sort of synergy with Phoenix strike tiles, but there's a reason people are grilling with Cap and Phoenix.
The only 5s that are useable at 450 are Bolt and Thanos, for all others you're better off running 4s - a boosted Peggy with a base level of 320+ is better than any 435.1 -
Update!!! I just magically pulled another non-dupe phx and another bh c5p, so now my phx is championed, and my c5p will be lvl 451 soon. Hopefully it all works out. If worse comes to worse, I can always sell my 5*s and go back to a 4* mmr1

I assume the key phrase here is "base level of 320+", right? My fourstars aren't quite at that level, so I am not quite in agreement with your analysis.0 -

Yeah.
Anything lower than 320 doesn't work with dual 435 MMR opponents.1 -
I will say in today's PVP, I saw an opponent with two boosted 4*s avoided that team. Normal boosted 4*s in PVP are around lv 340-ish, but these were around lv 435. I was impressed.
My own highest 4* is nick fury at around 305.. the rest of my highest are barely above 290, and due to the new vaulting, few will get higher than that, unless I make just one 4* my BH, and even that will still be slow.0 -
Yeah, I have been unpleasantly surprised by high level fourstars a few times to - yesterday I fought a high level Peggy and when she fired her blue and I checked the countdowns my jaw dropped a bit when I realized each one dealt more than 20K damage. I realized the futility and retreated.
I am planning to open my hoard next week, so I am trying to decide on a good strategy for my bonus fourstars. Right now it's just Carol Danvers, and that way she could conceivably hit level 330. If I add Peggy as a second, they could both get to 310. Not sure which approach is better...

Peggy is too slow without IM40, Carol is insane with any CD character.1
