Shields, how do they work?

So, shielding. Had a few questions. Can you earn points if someone attacks you while you're shielded and they lose? What happens if you're shielded but attack someone? Are you available for counterattack the moment you start the fight, or as soon as the fight ends?

    Yes you can earn points if you win whilst shielded.

    If you attack whilst shielded you will break your shield. The game will warn you and ask you if you want to attack.

    You have to defeat someone for them to retaliate against you, but you are always available to be attacked.

    The shield breaks the moment you start the fight, hence the necessity for speed kill teams and horrible point losses during that one match between shields that lasted a minute too long.
